Countdown To Insanity
H-Blockx Lyrics

Hands on
Hands on
Hands on
Hands on

This is a countdown I'm planning to leave
I'm heading out of this town I'm sick of the beef
Been wandering too long before it gets bad
I'm packing my memories, it's time to
Move on, cruise on, maybe in the wrong direction
Baby I'll be the hands on the steering wheel

It's too late, it's too fake
But I've got nothing to lose
Check mate, no hate
Hell I've got nothing to prove

6...5...one chance to stay alive
4...3...but I can hardly breathe
Countdown to insanity
Goodbye reality
2...1...tic toc
Let's go

Hands on
Hands on

If your problems are homegrown, it's time to cut back
Turn off your cell phone come joining the pack
Get out of your mad routine a change is to come
Life is a solitaire so you've got to
Move on, cruise on, maybe in the wrong direction
Baby you'll be the hands on the steering wheel

It's too late, it's too fake
But I've got nothing to lose
Check mate, no hate
Hell I've got nothing to prove

6...5...one chance to stay alive
4...3...but I can hardly breathe
Countdown to insanity
Goodbye reality
2...1...tic toc
Let's go

Overall Meaning

In "Countdown to Insanity," H-Blockx sings about the desire to leave behind the problems and routines of daily life and take control of one's own destiny. The song's title and chorus are a literal countdown, as the singer leaves town and embarks on a journey of self-discovery. The repetition of "Hands on" implies a sense of agency and empowerment, as the singer takes control of their life and steers their own course. The chorus also emphasizes the urgency and finality of this decision, with the countdown ticking down to the moment of departure.

The verses touch on themes of frustration and disillusionment with the status quo, as the singer realizes that they need to leave in order to find a new perspective. The line "been wandering too long before it gets bad" suggests that the singer is at a crossroads and needs to make a decision before things spiral out of control. As they pack up their memories and prepare to hit the road, there's a sense of excitement and possibility that comes with taking a leap of faith.

Da sind einige Songs sehr gut auf dieser CD - Discover my Soul. Die muss man am Anfang eh öfters hören.

How do you Feel
Heaven
I heard him Cry
Rainman
Live is feeling Dizzy

12 years later, I'm a mother to be, around 26 years old and can still sing this awesome song like nothing ever happened

H-Blockx are a really good band, I wish they were much bigger in the UK/USA

Sitting at my desk with headphones on, I think I've just Rock Band air-drummed the entirety of this track from memory. Monster of a song.

This song was in one of the earlier Rock Band DLC packs and I still play the hell out of it. It's my favorite song to play on RB when I just want to relax and have a good time, since it's catchy, fun and not stressful to get a high score.

WAYCNF

earlier? it was the last one released for rock band ever (before rock band 4)

iFightForMyFiends

@WAYCNF No, this song was added in 2008, the last DLC before RB4 was Don McLean's American Pie.

WAYCNF

@iFightForMyFiends yeah rb3 is bugged and it says it was released in like 2100 i think

ZigCOM

Absolutely brilliant!
I only wish I'd discovered them earlier.
What a great band.
