H-Town is an American R&B hip hop band that was formed in 1992 by three friends at Jack Yates High School in Houston, Texas. The group originally consisted of: Kevin "Dino" Conner, his fraternal twin brother Solomon "Shazam" Conner, and their long-time friend Darryl "G.I." Jackson. They took the name of the group, "H-Town," from the local nickname for the City of Houston.
It took H-Town six years before their first big break came. Dino and Shazam grew up surrounded by musicians and singers. All three band members went to pageants, talent shows and plays before they worked with a local producer. When they began to work with him, he sent their tape to Luther Campbell, who wasn't overly impressed.
The producer intentionally made Campbell miss a flight and dragged him back to the studio where he heard H-Town sing live. Campbell signed the group, joined up with producer Bishop "Stick" Burrell, and they went into the studio to start work on their debut album, Fever for Da Flavor.
On January 28, 2003, 28-year-old Dino Conner and his girlfriend Teshya Rae Weisent had just left a recording studio when their vehicle was struck by a SUV that ran a red light. Both Dino and Teshya Weisent were killed.
Three people witnessed the tragedy, but all fled the scene. One man, Juan Diaz, was later apprehended.
At the time, H-Town was working on what would become their fourth album.
H-Town finally released their reunion album, Imitations of Life, on October 12, 2004. The Remaining members of the group are in the works of making a H-Town Comeback album very soon, it is confirmed on their MySpace page.

I don't wanna knock anymore
Every once in a while everyone disagrees
Maybe that's just how we're supposed to be
Should we start, or should we stop
Vagrant lips want another pop
Our words like potions poison our emotional plot
Our eyes speak louder with each reply
Tell me darling will hear me out this time
And we don't have to make it right
I don't want sleep tonight
Cuz every time we end with brand new scars
Everyone can see it on our canvas arms
And wooh wooh
I don't want sleep tonight
And wooh wooh
And wooh wooh
Waiting for the sun to rise
But the night seems to take its time
These things our out of my control
At least my service they decline
I can read you like a book
But you wrote me like a letter
Paper with words you choose
The language of reflector
Girl with explosive properties
Our wordsmith parallel
Are you my bombshell carousel?
And I don't want to make it right
I don't want to sleep tonight
Cuz I just want to stay up with you
And make you sure know, I'm still into you
And wooh wooh
I don't want sleep tonight
And wooh wooh
And wooh wooh
The lyrics to H-Town's song "Don't Sleep On The Female" depict a relationship fraught with disagreements and miscommunications that are poisoning their emotional plot. The singer is sitting outside the door of their lover, unsure whether to knock again or not. The lyrics suggest that these two individuals have a lot of differences but despite it all, they still try to work things out. The use of words like "potions" and "poison" describe how their communication is negatively affecting them. The chorus suggests that they don't have to make things right and that they don't want to sleep tonight as each disagreement adds a new scar on their canvas arms.
The lyrics also paint a picture of a complicated and explosive relationship. The singer reads their partner "like a book" and yet they feel like they're written "like a letter". There's a sense of "explosive properties" in their dynamic as if they're both carrying the weight of each other's wordsmith parallel. They're effectively wondering if the other is their bombshell carousel, a potential source of endless conflict.
Overall, the song explores complex emotions and the struggle of maintaining a tumultuous relationship, where the lovers continue to try to make it work despite the odds.
