H-Town is an American R&B hip hop band that was formed in 1992 by three friends at Jack Yates High School in Houston, Texas. The group originally consisted of: Kevin "Dino" Conner, his fraternal twin brother Solomon "Shazam" Conner, and their long-time friend Darryl "G.I." Jackson. They took the name of the group, "H-Town," from the local nickname for the City of Houston.
It took H-Town six years before their first big break came. Dino and Shazam grew up surrounded by musicians and singers. All three band members went to pageants, talent shows and plays before they worked with a local producer. When they began to work with him, he sent their tape to Luther Campbell, who wasn't overly impressed.
The producer intentionally made Campbell miss a flight and dragged him back to the studio where he heard H-Town sing live. Campbell signed the group, joined up with producer Bishop "Stick" Burrell, and they went into the studio to start work on their debut album, Fever for Da Flavor.
On January 28, 2003, 28-year-old Dino Conner and his girlfriend Teshya Rae Weisent had just left a recording studio when their vehicle was struck by a SUV that ran a red light. Both Dino and Teshya Weisent were killed.
Three people witnessed the tragedy, but all fled the scene. One man, Juan Diaz, was later apprehended.
At the time, H-Town was working on what would become their fourth album.
H-Town finally released their reunion album, Imitations of Life, on October 12, 2004. The Remaining members of the group are in the works of making a H-Town Comeback album very soon, it is confirmed on their MySpace page.

It's workin' for me, baby
Break it down, DeVante
Oh baby, can I do a part time job?
Wanna work for you, check it
You've been working all day
I know you wanna complain (shh)
To hear you call my name
I can work around you
I don't wanna make things hard
I know I can't be your full time, baby
So let me be your part time job, yeah
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine
I can be your part time lover
I said I will, said I will, baby
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine
Part time lover, yeah
Yeah-yeah
There is not another man
Who wouldn't take care of you
Right now, I know you're busy, baby
But let me be your part time fool
I coulda give you lovin', girl
Anytime or anywhere
Anytime that you're free, baby, call me (call me)
And I'll be there (and I'll be there) if you don't mind
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine (I'll do it to ya)
I can be your part time lover (I'll do it, baby)
I'll be your part time lover
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine (I'll do it)
Part time lover (I'll do it for you, baby, yeah-yeah)
I wanna be your part time (part time, part time)
Lover (lover)
I just want to be your part time (yeah)
I don't have much to do
(I said I don't have much to do, baby)
Let me do for you (so let me, so let me work you, baby)
And you will be fine (hit me two times, baby)
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine (I said I will)
I can be your part time lover (I said I will do you, baby)
You don't have to worry about a thing, love, yeah
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
I'll do you just fine (all I wants to rub you, baby)
Part time lover (so let me rub you so right, baby)
(If you don't mind)
(I'll do you just fine, I can be your part time lover)
Can I make it so right
If you don't mind, if you don't mind
In “Part Time Lover” by H-Town, the singer offers to be a part-time lover for a busy person who doesn't have time for a committed relationship. The song starts with DeVante’s smooth spoken-word intro, setting the stage for seduction. The lyrics express the singer’s desire to be available to the busy individual, giving them comfort and love as part-time lovers. They make it clear that they know the person they are speaking to has a full-time job that leaves them feeling stressed and overworked. The singer offers to help ease the load by being available anytime the person is free to call upon them. They express their willingness to be called upon at any time and their readiness to offer love and support to their part-time lover.
The chorus repeats the message and makes it clear that the singer wants to be available for their part-time lover at any time of the day. They profess their love and desire to make their lover feel comfortable and cared for. The song is a romantic and sensual ode to the part-time lover, with the singer expressing their desire to be available whenever their lover needs them.
Overall the song is about finding a way to be there for someone you care about, even when their life is too busy for a full-time relationship. It’s a smooth and sultry song that reminds us of the joys of having someone special in our lives, even if it’s only part-time.
