H.U.G.O. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The end of a decade closes in, the oppressed fight back but still can't win.
A blind eye sees more than pain, expressions on heads look so feign.

Four men died today, someone's gotta pay.
Why did four men die today ?
The culprits can't be found, they're hiding underground.
Why did four men die today ?
Hoboes and underdogs strike a new chord, they're sick and tired of acting bored.
Legions of damned citizens try, while all around the rotting die.
Concerned committees study and gen, the final word from Number Ten.
The worried gasp a sigh and frown as all the walls come crashing down.

The end of a decade closes in, the oppressed fight back and still can't win.
Doomsday lurks, an ugly figure, who'll be first to pull the trigger.

Overall Meaning

The above lyrics are from H.U.G.O.'s song "4 in 2-3", which seems to be some sort of protest song against the oppression and helplessness of the underdogs, who are fighting to make their voice heard against the powerful. The opening lines "The end of a decade closes in, the oppressed fight back but still can't win" depict the struggle of the oppressed to create a better future for themselves, but they still find themselves under the control of the oppressors. The next line "A blind eye sees more than pain, expressions on heads look so feign" tells us that the oppressor is turning a blind eye towards the pain of the oppressed, and their expressions are fake.

The next part of the song mourns the death of four men and questions why they had to die. Who is responsible for this tragedy? The line "The culprits can't be found, they're hiding underground" highlights the impunity with which the perpetrators of crimes against the underdogs act. The subsequent lines, "Hoboes and underdogs strike a new chord, they're sick and tired of acting bored. Legions of damned citizens try, while all around the rotting die", further convey the desperation of the underdogs and their determination to bring about change.

The final lines of the song, "Doomsday lurks, an ugly figure, who'll be first to pull the trigger", suggest an impending doom and an atmosphere of uncertainty. The oppressed masses are left questioning who will be the one to finally bring this long-drawn-out struggle to an end, and what will come of their efforts.

@mattmanbrownbro

I was simply impressed a sub 200usd scope came with parallax adjustment, but after just seeing the glass quality, I'm not so surprised.

@Dodo-ze5ep

what do you mean?

@lordcharfield

I have just bought one of these as part of a start up kit. There are no instructions and I was hoping to find out what the on/off button does with the illuminated reticle. I don’t know what it’s for.

@Harolddespui

I've noticed more than once that certain Chinese manufacturers don't use a true image of the reticle in the advertisement.
The same for this scope. The reticle showed on the intro screen of this video is different than it actually is.

@EpikArms

Hi Harold the image in the thumbnail ant the one i show in the video are the same, the only difference is the one in the thumbnail had the red dot in the middle illuminated and i didnt use the illumination

@Harolddespui
