The sisters grew up in a musical family, and began playing instruments from an early age in the cover band Rockinhaim, fronted by their parents, Moti and Donna. The two elder sisters, Este and Danielle, began performing with the pop group "Valli Girls" in 2005. They released a few songs on soundtrack and compilation albums under that name, but left the group shortly after an appearance at the 2005 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. They formed Haim with younger sister Alana in 2007, but did not seriously consider it a professional career for some years. After Danielle became a successful touring guitarist, first with Jenny Lewis and later with Julian Casablancas, Haim reformed as a full-time operation in 2012.
The group's first release, Forever (an EP released as a limited-time download), combined with positive reception at the South by Southwest festival, led to a deal with Polydor Records and a management deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation group in mid-2012. The band began recording material for their first album, Days Are Gone, in sessions between touring dates, including appearances at the Glastonbury Festival. The album charted in the top ten in several countries, including the number-one spot in the UK, and the group had won several "best of" awards by the end of 2013. The group was nominated for Best New Artist at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Their second album, Something to Tell You, was released in July 2017. Their third album, titled Women in Music Pt. III, was released on June 26, 2020. The group received nominations at the 63rd Grammy awards for Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance (for "The Steps").
Nothing's Wrong

With nothing to say
Going though the motions
It's slipping away
We were so gallant
So unafraid
Sleeping back to back
You're turning away
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
It was good but now it's gone (t-tell me)
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Go on, tell me what you want (t-tell me)
Boy, keep telling me all along (t-tell me)
Just tell me nothing's wrong
Sound of the times
Sound of your crimes
Thinkin' about the other night
Was it all in my mind?
I was so foolish, I was so blind
Why do we do this to each other, baby?
Heartbreak by design
How could you tell me nothing's wrong
(Just tell me, baby)
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong
(How could you tell me nothing's wrong)
It was good but now it's gone, baby
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong
(T-tell me nothing's wrong)
How could you tell me nothing's wrong
(Just tell me baby)
Go on, tell me what you want (t-tell me)
Boy, you keep telling me all along (t-tell me)
Just telling me nothing's wrong
It's obvious
Be honest
It's obvious (could you tell me nothing's wrong?)
Be honest
It's obvious
Be honest
It's obvious (just tell me, baby)
I'm being honest
It's obvious
Be honest
Be honest, be honest
Tell me nothing's wrong
T-tell me nothing's wrong
T-tell me nothing's wrong, yeah yeah
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Go on, tell me what you want (t-tell me)
Boy, you keep telling me all along (t-tell me)
Just tell me nothing's wrong
(Just tell me, baby)
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Tell me, tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
How could you tell me nothing's wrong (t-tell me)
Go on, tell me what you want (t-tell me)
The lyrics to HAIM's song Nothing's Wrong describe a relationship that is falling apart. The singer is counting the hours and going through the motions, realizing that their connection with their significant other is slipping away. The two were once very close, sleeping back to back, but now they barely communicate. The singer asks their partner how they could say that nothing is wrong when everything seems to have changed. The sound of their voices reminds the singer of past mistakes and heartbreak, leaving them wondering why they continue to hurt each other.
The chorus repeats the plea for the partner to tell the singer that nothing is wrong and to be honest. The singer wants to hear that everything is okay, but they know deep down that things are not right. They ask their partner to be truthful about their feelings so they can move forward in one way or another. Overall, the song captures the pain of a relationship that is fading away and the desire for honesty and connection.
