A great song that I think pays tribute to what makes highlife such a wonderful genre of music.

This is my absolute favorite!!! Everytime I listen to this I'm on a magic carpet!

The Kenya RIP song it is based on the song by the late Francis Kenya's highlife guitar band 'Madame Zehae Ala' (Just as I am) that I recorded in my Bokoor Studio in Accra Ghana in the mid 1980s - and was released on the Electric Highlife CD by Naxos in 2002. The original song was sung by Francis Kenya in his local Ghanaian Nzima language and the tune is based on the old odonson highlife style which rotates around two tone centres a tone apart (rather than western chord progressions) and is in polyrhythmic 6/8 time. The lead guitarist was the late Paa Gyima. Check my article ''African Guitarism' on www.academia.edu John Collins, Accra .

+Thomas Collins Dear Sir, this song have been one of my favourite since the time it was released, but I am having huge problems, being a non-native speaker, transcribing the lyrics. If you have the time, would you you be so kind to put the lyrics to Highlife's songs here. Thank you very much.
