Halford Lyrics

[Meine/Schenker/Rarebell/Kittelsen]

[Originally performed by Scorpions]

[Bonus Track]

I realize I missed the day
But I'm too wrecked to care anyway

I look around and see the face

What the hell have I lost my taste

Don't want to find out

Just want to cut out

My head explodes, my ears ring

I can't remember just where I've been

The last thing that I recall

I got lost in a deep black hole

Don't want to find out

Just want to cut out

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

I grab my things and make a run

On my way out, another one

Would like to know before I stop

Did I make it or did I flop

Don't want to find out

Just want to get out

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Don't want to find out

Just want to get out

Blackout

I really had a blackout

Overall Meaning

The song "Blackout" by Halford (originally performed by Scorpions) is a reflection of the aftermath of a wild night of partying. The lyrics are sung from the perspective of someone who has woken up the day after with no memory of what happened the night before. The singer is too wrecked to care and just wants to cut out (leave) without finding out what happened. He talks about his head exploding and his ears ringing, indicating that he had a wild and possibly drug-fueled night. He also mentions grabbing his things and making a run, suggesting that he may have done something he regrets or is ashamed of.

The repetition of the word "Blackout" throughout the song adds to the feeling of confusion and disorientation. The singer doesn't know what happened during his blackout and just wants to move on without finding out. The overall message of the song seems to be a warning about the dangers of excessive drinking and drug use, as it can lead to memory loss and other negative consequences.

Pero la voz de Klaus es igual de perfecta que la de Rob. Y más que Klaus mientras estaban grabando éste "Blackout" estaba operándose de la garganta. ImI.

2 of my favorites Judas Priest (Halford) and Scorpions. Nowadays I have a few other favorites (Angra, Symphony X, Helloween etc...) but those 2 remain my first ever favorites for life.
