I read on the Halloween wiki that this version of Michael has a rare condition where he cannot feel pain or his injuries. So my theory is that, since he cannot feel all the bullets, knifes, and the loss of his fingers, this doesn’t really deter his stamina. However, since in Halloween Kills we see him nursing his severed fingers, I think it’s clear that, while he doesn’t feel pain, he knows that his injures could kill him, causing him to stop the bleeding from his hand

I think Ends makes it clear that it was about his status as the Boogeyman instead of a literal power that keeps him alive. It was Loomis who spread the rumor he was pure evil as a child and the whole town bought it as part of the urban legend. Over the 3 movies of the recent reboot, Laurie comes to terms with that at the end and it demystifes the status completely, though it doesn't mean it's contained and can easily spread. Similar track record with Corey. The more he embraced this idea and fear surrounding his accident in the beginning, the more "powerful" he became. Basically anybody can embody the status of Michael Myers so as long as people fear what he initially represented. And in that sense... He truly is invincible.

So so glad you covered him, he is one of my fave horror characters like so many others. There was a moment he gave his sister a chance…maybe the one and only moment he shows empathy. When he shows her a pic of him holding her when he was a boy and she was a baby. But she screams and stabs him…this turns his heart back into stone. A lot of these characters have empathy for one close or loved one…but more often than not rejected by them…turning them perhaps even colder and murderous than before.

My theory is that Michael let Corey go so that he could regain his power. Killing in anonymity could sustain him but not return him to strength. He needed a witness for the influence of the legend to restore him. Like you said, even an audience of one did the trick. So, if Michael recognized a bit of the evil resided inside Corey, he probably thought that it would bring him back. That, or he thought Corey might return to show someone else what he found. Either way Michael gets what he wanted.

Knowing Michael's background and that he had family doesn't make him less terrifying, it makes him MORE terrifying. Furthermore, the new series made a huge mistake in throwing out Halloween II. There were some nice scary moments in them but the disappointment of Halloween Ends was the cherry on a ** cake. Great video, though!!

I wanna say that if the old lady in Kills survived then Michael definitely could've lived through the battle at the end of Kills. It's clear his motive was always to go home and recreate what he did as a child but Loomis and then Dr, Sartain messed that up each year. His home being destroyed is probably what kept him in the sewer but him not having the strength to kill Corey definitely helped give him a new motive and energy to kill again. He did go to patch himself up in Kills so it's clear he can be hurt and by the way Ends ended its clear he's mortal. My theory is people even when ganging up on him are afraid and never fully commit to hurting him. Every time Laurie tried in 2018 she was clearly afraid but in Ends she wasn't, she unmasked him, spoke to him and slowly killed him.

What I love about these horror history timelines is that CZsWorld does a great job at making things make sense. I'm sure many Halloween fans, including myself, didn't understand the point of that tangent Ends went off on, but he ties it in with the rest of the timeline and gives it a purpose very well.

As terrible of a movie as Ends was to me personally, it did get one thing right to me: the lesson in the end. Evil isn’t just one man. Evil is a disease that can pass from person to person without them even knowing they have the bug. It was sad seeing how Corey was broken by the stigma surrounding him, as terrible of an execution his character arc had. I think it’s most likely he’ll be the one wearing the mask going forward in the franchise if this is only the end of one timeline as I think it is.

What makes The Shape so iconic to me is he is unhurried exuding an aura of pure confidence in that it isn’t if you will die but just when, he isn’t made a joke or shallow by making the stories about him because he just is no past and no future considerations he is literally existing in the moment. I have always thought the head tilt reminded me of the way a bird will look at something like “hmm” and just fly away. You will never understand what it is thinking and it will never say.
I absolutely love the new masks they tell a story though the damage and age but are still so hollow that it is unsettling. That creates pure fear in that he wouldn’t even need a weapon his presence is just powerful it triggers that pause moment where your breath catches before you can remember you are supposed to be running.
I pray to all things holy they don’t try to make a new timeline. It won’t be the same. Cory has way to much of a story to his character. There were lots of great nods to the og movies. I feel it would be freaking awesome if Jason could get a quality reboot. I feel what makes this possible for Michael and Jason but not Freddy is Freddy was about personality and dark humor where as Jason and Michael just are. They are a presence and their silence is what makes them work.

I don’t think that Laurie was his prime factor in escaping, sure she’s the one that got away but I personally think that over 4 decades, he got over it and moved to more “important” things…escaping from the sanitarium and reaching his childhood home. Everyone and everything else was just a distraction or anyone that isn’t but he looks at is just a random kill. basically there’s no method to the madness, all his killing is random or something he does in order to get to where he needs to be…his house, looking out that window.

After watching this, I've come to the conclusion that MM is the evil/slasher version of Batman... the way he's human but unkillable, he's got a talent for appearing and disappearing at will, he prefers to work in the dark, he's a huge guy who's uncannily silent, and they both have their special outfit with a mask that hides their expression or emotions. They also have their own trademark tools and like to leave a "calling card" behind. They both operate like ruthless predators too. Like MM, Batman is also often considered to be just a Boogeyman who no one really knows if he's actually real or not. Someone the kids make up stories about to scare each other. They both die all the time, but never seem to stay that way.

I like to think that Michael let Cory escape in Ends because he recognized a fellow psychopath. Because when they're having their moment, we see flashes of the night the little boy died, but this time we see that Cory actually did push him over the banister.

I agree that Michael is powered by fear, at least to an extent. And that scene kinda gave me a Freddy vs. Jason vibe, like Michael looked at Cory and thought, 'This kid could be useful.' And, like Jason, he eventually got out of hand and Michael felt the need to put him down.

David Gordon Green said in an interview that Michael went away to die like an animal after Kills. I believe that when Corey helped him kill the cop, it "inspired" him. He was only killing to have something to eat for the past 4 years probably.

Awesome job covering this timeline. I will point out though. I just saw Ends yesterday. The knitting needle wasn't just randomly there. We see her in a previous shot sitting in a chair knitting near where the confrontation takes place.

Also at 51:54 It isn't strange to me that she tries to get him to kill her. In my opinion it looks like she is looking right at Michael, at this time it could be inferred she still thought that her Grand Daughter had left her alone, thinking she had killed her boyfriend without letting her explain..This pretty much in her mind left her nothing left to live for. Giving credence to this idea being that she looks so surprised to see Alyson.

The reason that Michael let Corey live is because Michael sees the evil inside of Corey and he’s also confused on why he is a psycho. And does this mean Corey was inflicted with the Curse of Thorn? No. Michael was inflicted with the Thorn Curse. But I think Michael saw Corey’s actions on the night he killed Jermey on Halloween Night 2019. Ends explains this

Am I the only one that actually liked Halloween Ends? Sure it isn’t even close to being as good as the original and even the 2018 film but I actually think it’s my 3rd favorite especially compared to all the other crap we’ve been given in the past. I don’t think we would ever want another Halloween film like Halloween Resurrection or Rob Zombie's Halloween 2. It had a nice conclusive end to it and they manage to top the ending of H20 by ACTUALLY killing Michael Myers ain’t no way he’s gonna come back from being shredded into pieces. (At least in this timeline.) It also doesn’t ignore the fact that there can still be boogeymen and evil will never die.

The last three wounds Laurie give to Michael can be and are sometimes used by hunters depending on their trophy/meat needs. Those three... cutting the artery in the neck, puncturing the lung through the side (brutal, but needed for some style of mountings) and the slice to the femoral in an extremity are for pre-processing purposes. Make sure the animal is dead, but the meat or mount are salvageable. An obvious human limit of blood has poured from Michael by the time Hawkins arrives. The body is dead, bled, and ready for the next phase of [processing. Then they truss mount the body on the roof like a deer hunter on first day of the season and take it to a processing plant. A plant that processed machines... not living things. They process the body... with a machine meant to take machines down to cornflake sized bits that are sortable... I have been calling the final act "The Cornflaking of Michael Myers." Which I think is funny as I get.

You said about why Michael let Corey live. You remember earlier on you said about not killing kids, well when Corey's life stopped growing, he was still an innocent child in a way. The chocolate milk and not drinking alcohol, he always made the child-like decisions that has yet to be tarnished by the temptations of the world. He was still an innocent soul when he met Michael and Michael most likely saw he was innocent with that saying that the eyes are a mirror into the soul, he only turned on Corey after Corey made the decision to betray Michael, which no longer made him an innocent being anymore whereas betrayal is a choice and emotional move that children in their innocent states will not make.

Just my take on the theory. Lol

Lol which is a psychotic one, but then again who's to say that anyone who believes in religious savings aren't psychotic as well? Just wanna let everyone know that I was at a pumpkin patch the other day, and there was an attendant making sure that no one smashed the pumpkins on purpose or was stealing them or anything. However they were wearing a Michael Myers mask and costume and staring at small children to freak them out, never speaking or moving fast. My cousin took a photo of them and they stared at us for five minutes straight, and then the next time we looked around he was just completely gone. He was on a quad bike and I don’t know how we didn’t hear him leave, but it creeped us all out in a good way :).

Did somewhat appreciate what they were trying to do with Myers. Though they kind of contradict themselves by having Michael be "a mere mortal" he does things well above a normal 60-year-old can do like at the end of the second film. Unless they are willing to say that he was that strong because he was psychotic.

I love Halloween 2018 and Kills, but don't exactly know how I feel about Halloween Ends. I don't think that they should've killed him, it'd fit that nobody got a satisfying ending. It'd make more sense for Michael to just disappear or die of natural causes instead of straight up killing him. Also, I don't exactly like Corey's whole character, I feel that teaming with Michael for a bit made Michael much less scarier in the movie, and also the town managing to kill him also makes him feel much less scary and less of an inevitable evil that will come back.

The way I see it, the reason Michael was so weak in ends was due to all the injuries he's sustained in the last two films. When he kills his first victims in 2018, they weren't really impressive. He breaks an old man's neck, and Chokes out a teenager. The officers that he killed were probably quite disoriented from the crash, and one of them managed to cling onto life a bit longer. Plus I personally think sartain caused the crash, and could've inflicted an injury on the cops. So the first kill that was actually worthy of Michaels status was that jaw break at the gas station. And he had already killed enough people to gain a bit of strength back. Another difference between this gap in Activity and the one in ends was the fact that he was in pretty good condition, all his previous wounds had been treated years ago. In Halloween Ends he's just been chilling in the sewers. All of his wounds are probably infected. So to me it makes perfect sense as to why he got so weak.

I don’t think Michael was supernatural. I think he possessed the right mixture of extreme qualities. Such as maybe he can’t go into shock like nearly everyone. Maybe he feels less pain or just has a different instinctual response to pain. Again, extreme qualities found once in a lifetime, one at a time in others. Michael just drew the lucky hand.

Laurie’s line about how the more he kills the more he transcends, I look at it like the more a pro-fighter wins, the more people wonder if they can be beat. It’s a figurative view, not literal. The more he kills, the more people will believe he can’t be stopped. That doesn’t mean some supernatural quality is actually increasing.

Finally, in terms of Corey and the sewer issues. I don’t believe there was any supernatural stuff going on. I think Michael believes he needs to kill and almost has no purpose without it. His injuries took their toll. Once he started killing again, and enjoying it, he had the good old fashioned placebo effect of finding some miracle cure. When really his drive was coming back, and it just felt good.

Looking Corey in the eyes, he could recognize a quality that he hadn’t in others. So he took notice of that, maybe not knowing what to do with it. After, all look at the contrast of Corey looking into his eyes versus Tommy. Corey was able to see something there that Tommy couldn’t. Vice versa for Michael.

Who in here would be interested in seeing a prequel? Maybe it could be about Michael's time in Smith's Grove. I've often wondered what happened to him in there, and if he ever killed another patient.

I have a theory. Yeah maybe Michael Myers is dead for sure and his body is gone, but does that mean that his evilness is gone too? Maybe Corey Cunningham will be revived and keep Michael's evilness going by being the Boogeyman!

Very good video and enjoyed your opinions of the the last 3 40yr timeliness movies!!! I agree with toothpickvideos comment!!! As much as I love the Halloween franchise I truly love the last 3 movies of the 40 yr timeliness, these movies make more sense as to the urban legend boogeyman from 1978 movie. The other 2 timeliness basically made him seem more fantasy or demonic powered being which can definitely dilute the character as a whole.. this began to happen in other horror franchises where they seemed to grasp at straws or take shots in the dark at what franchise fans would endeavor just because of who the franchise was guilt around.
As for the Halloween franchise starting with a new Michael themed character would be interesting but idk if it would be such a wise thing to do...just not yet anyways. If and when this ever happens O hope the directors, screen writers and actors chosen for this task really do their research so we the fans do not get just another type of reboot!!!

Even though blumhouse tried to get the halloween franchise even more better, the new movies in my opinion aren't the worst but 2018 was better with better terrifying atmosphere and soundtrack, for halloween kills while the movie wasn't the best with the sloopy writing and bad discussions it was decent and halloween ends wasn't what we been expecting for a great finale it wasn't the worst movie but ok

Interesting take I've heard and thought about him as a urban legend usually when comparing him to candyman cause everything I watch I can see connections to Michael. Everything connects to Michael lol. Michael in the new trilogy especially in ends reminds me of old msn Logan in the Logan movie. He's getting old. He can still do his thing but not as well as he use to lol. He's strong but not as much as before lol.

I was disappointed that Kills set him up to be a supernatural unstoppable killing machine only for Ends to being just a guy in a mask. Based upon the IMDB rating, we will probably be waiting a while for a new timeline/reboot to happen.

Michael literally killed a kid when he escaped the bus in the 2018 Halloween night.
It doesn't make much sense why he wouldn't kill the other kids. Perhaps there is no pattern here.
The only reason I can think of is that he didn't exactly want to move the kid out of the drivers seat so he could steal the car. He would've had to kill him, so maybe he only kills kids if they are specifically in his way?

I think Laurie is right, each kill makes him stronger, if you think about it it makes sense. In Halloween Ends, he so weak from not killing but each kill he later does you can see he gets stronger and stronger but by the end battle the few kills weren’t enough to make him strong enough like he was in previous movies.

I don’t think Corey dies…at the very end of the movie before the credits you can hear faint breathing which sounds like Corey’s. If he received any power from Michael it would explain how he survived the damage and him stabbing himself in the throat will explain how he can’t talk going into the future

in halloween 2018 i feel michael had ulterior motives after killing vicky. pretty much nobody i talked to whos seen it has noticed but immediately after michael kills vicky and does his head tilt, he slams the door shut. we then don’t see michael for a while and only after a good 3-4 minutes do we see vicky’s body again, as a ghost. in movies, im sure we all know what it means when a boy and a girl are in the same room together and one shuts the door. also given michael is a serial killer, well…im sure you can connect the dots. pretty grotesque when you think about it, and out of character for michael. just a thought tho.🤷🏽‍♂️

"Most" humans are hardwired to identify emotions from facial expressions. But there are mental disorders that somehow cancels out that hardwiring or at least hardwire the brain differently from others such as Aspergers/Autism making it hard for the person with it able to correctly read emotions from facial expressions. I should know. I been struggling with trying to read expressions my entire life as I have Aspergers/Autism and although I got many figured out, there are still times I don't pick up on emotional expressions when everyone else around me does. Just want to point that out incase anyone who read this comment meets someone that might also have a hard time reading expressions.

@AlexanderNottingham the movie was really dumbed down. Any extra lore they packed in were just breadcrumbs as I said but as the rights go back to the original producer it won't matter much. They could explore whatever they were trying to get at in a future reboot however.

Amazing. You completely changed my perspective on Halloween Ends. While I lament the utter lack of comedy in Ends, I now recognize the greater message and see it as great end to a great trilogy. Thank you.

Michael evil had spread to others in the previous timelines. We don't have concrete proof but I could see a run in with Michael and Charlie bones before the original that made Charlie want to kill his family. It affected Dr Loomis over the decades of his treating him and chasing after him lol. Passed to Jaime briefly but they have connection between them. The encounter with Michael affected tommy where he acts kind of like Michael in few scenes of six lol. In producers cut evil passed to Loomis lol. We see Laurie affected by Michael in seven and after seven in the comics we see the evil had infected her after killing him and she became him lol. In resurrection the dude proposed the idea that the shape is in all of us the evil the boogeyman the giant white shark. So we have evil in us like Michael lol. Laurie got infected with Michael evil through hereditary means in rob zombies Halloween. Dr sartain like Corey was infected by the blackest eyes and want to be like Michael but Michael kills both in the end lol. The whole town is infected by Michael's evil in final one but seems after he's dead they're all thriving. Or is this just a rest for the boogeyman like he always takes breaks is that all this is lol. Is he fully destroyed physically or is there pieces left. Maybe his heart is still left. Maybe someone can come across it. Maybe they eat it and just like in Jason goes to he'll Michael is back . Michael is reborn lol. Halloween reborn would be cool title. Once he pops out of whoever body he's in now reborn he don't have to he old anymore he could whoever age is the person that ate his heart lol. Or maybe like in candyman when they trapped candyman and was burning him the bees escaped the fire and dispersed showing the spirit or evil escaping leaving the body burning in fire. Maybe same thing happened here the evil escaped Michael as he got crunched up and went on. Maybe to someone in the procession. Maybe someone in another town. Maybe in Alison lol. Maybe in Laurie lol. If it escaped into Alison or Laurie it'd be cool but funny if they dud like fight club where they're unaware of his presence they awake they go about their life but when they sleep Michael takes over lol slowly turning them into Tyler durden or rather Michael Myers lol. Of course on Halloween or during October lol. There's so many possibilities with Michael. They're endless just like the evil the boogeyman the shape Michael Myers possesses lol. We are all the shape or the boogeyman or we can be lol.

My bet is the next step in the halloween franchise will be a tv series ....a tv show could be awesome....I'd love to see a series set just after the 78 murders ...like what effect did it have on the town and townsfolk ...a whole new set of characters could be created ..with the spectre of michael hanging over the town ....because it's such a long timeline you could start anywhere in the last 40 years and veare off into new stories

Really wanted to see Michael with the same energy of Halloween kills. Would've been great if Michael and Lori die at the same time. michael taking one last breath and just finally killing lori the final girl would have been a great end. Instead we got Halloween ends just dog water

Very recently in my life, I considered “The Predator” (2018) to be the biggest screw-up in modern film history, the ultimate disrespect to not only the franchise itself, but the fans as well; “Halloween Ends” changed that.
