After a heavy attack of maniacal European techno in late 90s this wave of progressive and tribal house was so refreshing. Ideal for small clubs but works also in open spaces. Ideally during warm summer nights with chilled drinks and great sound system. I sometimes really miss this period.

Just saw this comment and it took me back to a thursday night at a tiny club called the Car Park in Byron Bay Australia. Small town, small club, banging house music. Played like 5 hours and the sweat was dripping from the walls.

The very first Halo Varga track I ever heard, and it’s all thanks to Erick Morillo and Harry Choo Choo Romero’s essential mix from 2000! It’s one of these tracks that were played literally everywhere by everybody. Plus the fact that this can be dropped in any DJ set whatever the style, that’s what makes it a HUGE classic.
