Atlanta In Ashes
Haloscript Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How did we lose all this
It seemed is was an evident bliss
Overconfident it would be won
Not a nation given to one song
I won't fight for a gentlemen's cause
Shot in the back by misguided gun
(NO MORE)
This the end
(NO MORE)
Till we meet again

We burn this city
So this union will be safe

Take- take me from this tragedy
To a place where i can hold my own
Not pinned beneath these burning guns

Pre-dawning of the northern lights
They entrench their works in the night
Poor judgement by a union son
Losing three soldiers to our one
One by one upon a funeral pyre
One by one until the all caught fire
(ONCE MORE)
This is the end
(NO MORE)
Now we meet again

Take- take me from this tragedy
To a place where i can hold my own
Not pinned beneath these burning guns
Please- can you take me from this tragedy
To place where i can call my own
I DONT DESERVE THIS

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ME TO ACCOST YOU

On bended knees i am
Unleash the cannons rampart
What was so great the cost
For should this fight be lost
Maybe a hero will die in vain

Take- take me from this tragedy
To a place where i can hold my own
Not pinned beneath these burning guns
Please- can you take me from this tragedy
To place where i can call my own
I DONT DESERVE THIS
THIS IS THE END
TILL WE MEET AGAIN

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Haloscript's song "Atlanta in Ashes" depict a battle between two cities or nations. The first few lines suggest that one side had been confident of an easy victory but had ended up losing everything. The singer talks about being shot in the back by a misguided gun, indicating that deceitful tactics have been used. The chorus repeats the lines "this is the end, until we meet again", creating a feeling of finality and some kind of closure. The second stanza talks about burning a city down so that a union could be safe, emphasizing the idea of sacrifice for the greater good. The next few lines describe a fight where poor judgement on one side led to high losses, resulting in soldiers being burned on a funeral pyre.

The last few stanzas of the song have a more urgent and empowering tone. The singer asks to be taken away from the tragedy to a place where they can hold their own without being pinned down by burning guns. They also plead that they don't deserve this fate. Then, a call to action is made, asking for cannons to be unleashed and for heroes to be willing to die for their cause. The final chorus repeats the same lines as before, but with more intensity, suggesting that this is, indeed, the end of this particular fight.

I believe they recorded some music with one or more Sevendust band members. Saint could provide accurate information about this.

UPDATE ON THREE HALOSCRIPT MUSICIANS:

Saint, Charlotte Kelli, and Adair joined forces with a fabulous bass player to form another musical group known as LAST RED RANSOM (LLR).

Check out their new sounds on YouTube, including one recent video called  "LANTERNS".
