Hamlet es un grupo de metal alternativo de Madrid (España), en activo desde 1987, considerado el impulsor de éste género en castellano. Su sonido se caracteriza por potentes riffs no exentos de melodía junto con una voz también melódica que se alterna con partes crudas.
El comienzo de Hamlet como grupo se remonta al lejano 1987, los lógicos cambios de formación el acoplamiento entre personalidades y el rumbo musical a elegir consiguieron que su formación actual sea una de las más duraderas dentro del panorama rockero del mundo. The first verse of Hamlet's song Escupe Tu Vanidad, translates to "Distinguished asshole, you won't forget my name. You know why, I won't remind you once again. You have a reason to declare, an occasion that you cannot fail." This verse indicates that the singer is addressing someone who has wronged them in some way, and they are demanding that this person acknowledge what they have done wrong. However, the singer is also implying that this person has already forgotten their name and what they have done wrong. The last line of the verse, "una ocasión, la que no puedes fallar" (an occasion that you cannot fail) suggests that this may be the last chance for the person to make amends.
