You're My Lady
Hammond & West Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ha... Miss you girl...
I remember you...
You are the only one, You know?
Tonight
You're my treasure
My life
You're my treasure
You're my treasure
Ha... Love you girl...

Baby kiss for you...
You are the only one, You know?

The moon mocks him while he lights a candle to fill the emptiness in his soul. He compares their relationship to a puzzle, saying that they are two pieces that do not make any sense alone. He longs to go back in time and tell her how he feels but wonders if it is too late to do so now.

The man tries to move on with his life, putting away their photos and attempting to find solace in new beginnings. He believes that finding the last piece to their puzzle will lead him to her. The song ends on a hopeful note, with the man believing that fate will bring them together again.

This is wonderful, I absolutely think this LP should be a classic. Rock and roll ballads, europop, orchestral melodies, well known songs, everything on hype in the 80's is condensed here. Albert West was a stunning singer, sweet and soft, with stupendous pronunciation and great rhythm. Albert Hammond is a legend, his way to sing, arrange and compose are out of this world. I'm not a fan of '80s style ballads but I confess I enjoyed this deeply, this collab was amazing and so sincere. This LP has the best version of "To all the girls I've loved before" ever recorded and "Give a little love" is a cute hymn to life. Everything is enjoyable here.
Thanks for posting this, world needs more from Albert Hammond.
