Not Worth Today
Hana Pestle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For the bleeding
It's just the pain and I'm grieving
I can't deny you this evening
So this is goodbye my friends
I don't want to leave
I'm too weak to stay
Tomorrow's just not worth today
There's more to me to remember
Than just the cold of November
Though I'm alone, know that I am not afraid
I don't want to leave
I'm too weak to stay
And I'm sorry to say
Tomorrow's just not worth today
Fading away, suddenly I don't hurt anymore
My heart is free
I wish you could see my smile
I dont want to leave
I'm too weak to stay
And I'm sorry to say
Tomorrow's just not worth today
I don't want to leave
I'm too weak to stay
And I'm sorry to say
Tomorrow...
Tomorrow's just not worth today
The song "Not Worth Today" by Hana Pestle is a poignant reflection on the pain and grief of letting go. The verses speak of bleeding and grieving, with the singer acknowledging that it's not the fault of the person they're leaving behind. Despite this, the singer knows that they have to say goodbye and move on. The chorus repeats the sentiment that tomorrow is just not worth today, suggesting that the singer has decided to end things to avoid further heartbreak.
Although the song deals with difficult themes, there is also a sense of emotional resilience in the lyrics. The second verse speaks of the singer's memory and the fact that they are not afraid to be alone. The final verse is perhaps the most striking, with the singer describing their heart as "free" and saying that they wish their friends could see their smile. This suggests that the singer has found some measure of peace through the pain.
Overall, "Not Worth Today" is a moving meditation on the complexity of human relationships and the difficulty of letting go. Its gentle melody and heartfelt lyrics make it a powerful song that speaks to many people's experiences of loss and heartbreak.

When it comes to writing songs, your song needs to have a sense of urgency, your songs need to feel and sound like its going somewhere. When you do that it makes the song sound not boring, and it keeps the listener engaged.
