at step 2 "quest step 1" you can also drop from the dragon communion alter if you follow the wing all the way to the end at the lowest point
then travel down the hill, that leads you right into the finger ruins from behind avoiding majority of enemies and shortening the trip considerably
(to get to the dragon communion you go through dragon pit)

after your done if you go back and climb the dragon's head and go around you reach the hidden grove which if you follow to the end drops down onto a shrine that is a stone throws away from the cerulean coast shrine
the river is a much safer route

just a heads up, you can get two irises of occultation, one is found by killing an ulcerated tree spirit after draining water in the church district allowing both weapons to be claimed in one run, and in the next area after there's another iris of grace if you really wish to have both summons in one run.

For anyone struggling with the mother of fingers fight I used radahns great bow and spammed the ash of war from far away make sure you keep a lot of distance and spam once u get to second phase use a summon maybe mimic so you both can spam that way was pretty easy for me

No need to travel this far to find iris. You can find iris of grace in the same area with the site of grace where you used gesture for statue of Marika. It is in the room up the stairs from grace. And iris of ocultation drops from one of the tree spirits in church district. The one near big crabs.

For anyone planning to use this: Sword of Night only scales with Dex, even at +10. Yet, the AOW relies on Magic Damage. Typically, pumping stats into Dex would increase your R1, R2 Damage. Meanwhile, you would throw stats into INT, in order to boost the magic Ash of War (this is why people split Dex and Int for Moonveil). BUT . . . since this only scales with Dex, the AOW of Sword of Night is ALWAYS weak no matter what. I think the devs made a mistake and we will probably see a patch that adds INT scaling to it later.

after killing the invader in the weird place under the throne, was not able to interact with the bell at the end for some reason, loaded back in the cathedral and now the npc's are back sat on the chair and at the pillar and going through their dialogue and reloading in no longer makes them disappear so unable to go back down beneath the throne, anyone have a solution for this?

If yall cant beat ymir use the placidussax dragon king sword, its a pretty tough boss and its located on the main game area crumbling farum azula, please watch a tutorial on how to reach the boss since its a secret and very cool boss and his sword will make this fight a cakewalk, for those who have it just use the sword's aow and charge it fully to chase him around the room and he will not be able to cast any spell

You can get both of the things you need to either get the sword or summon when you drain the water in the the keep. You have to fight a tree avatar at the bottom and some other enemies. If you sold one of your items to either get the sword or summon you still have a way to get it

Pain, I didn't understand tf fextralite was saying in their wiki. If anyone cares I found a bug I haven't heard about anywhere. After you drain the water in shadow keep and right after you discover the sunken chapel site of grace, immediately fast travel back to church district entrance site of grace. Doing this causes the 2nd tree spirit thing to die and you instantly get the iris of occultation. Might save somebody some. Idk why it dies but the other tree spirit down there doesn't die. The one close to sunken chapel will still spawn you walk close enuf to it

Increasing arcane will help with weapons that scale with it, blood weapons and ashes or wars especially, higher the arcane the better and more effective the blood loss and scaling

Here is something not said , the summon is not the final form summon of it , if you choose the iris of grace , you can go on the top of the tower you see north of the maner , by passing by the cliff of the other area , here is her brother corpse , use the iris of light again , and the two summon will fuse.

15:10 lmao got a bug where I got Iris of Occultation without going to the fort, for Iris of Occultation bug, after you pull the lever in the Shadow Peak go down the lever then instead of heading back to your path go to other direction instead do some little bit of platforming and then you should see another grace and stake of marika, rest in the new grace and then teleport back to the Shadow Peak entrance Grace and then instantly got the Iris of Occultation and got 40k runes.

I can't blow the second bell, and when i went back to the bonfire, he was back and gave me the second map. Did things without talking to him, so kind of just did it then went for dialouge. Can't get the 3rd map either.
