Handsome Boy Modeling School were Prince Paul (best-known for his work with De la Soul and Stetsasonic) and Dan Nakamura (a.k.a. Dan the Automator), hugely successful hip-hop producers in their own right. They released two CDs in total: So...How's Your Girl? in 1999 and White People in 2004, collaborating with a mix of diverse artists, ranging from hip-hop heavyweights Del tha Funkee Homosapien and RZA through to The Mars Volta and indie-darling Cat Power. Unfortunately it looks as though they won't be producing any more now that Prince Paul has left the group in 2006 over disputes with Dan.

I would not be in love with such a diverse range of music was it not for the Tony Hawk skateboarding video game series. This song ruled in THUG 2 as well as Cut Chemist’s Drums of Fire

Same here. The first THUG game was my bother's and my favorite PS2 game, and we both have a love for underground hip hop because of it. I didn't really explore the artists until I was 19 or so, and once I did I found so many connections to artists I already knew. Gorillaz (2001) was one of the few albums I'd listen to start-to-finish as a kid. When I discovered Deltron 3030 and heard Damon Albarn in the intro, I immediately looked up the album on Wikipedia. It blew me away that this album was essentially made by the same 3-4 guys in the same year as Gorillaz . That led me to Automator's other projects, where I found Handsome Boy Modeling School and Dr. Octagonecologyst—both of which are among my favorite hip hop albums of all time.
