Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, she played in a band with Tim Oxford of Arkells in high school before moving to Victoria, British Columbia to attend university.
While in university, she recorded a number of song demos in a friend's recording studio and quickly attracted the attention of other area musicians, releasing her début EP "The Beat Stuff" in 2008. The EP garnered airplay on CBC Radio 3, who later also named Georgas the winner of their 2009 Bucky Award for Best New Artist. Following a show in New York City in 2009, Georgas was invited to write a song for a Wal-Mart commercial; the resulting track, "You've Got a Place Called Home", ran in the store's Autumn advertising campaign.
She released her full-length début album, "This Is Good", on 27th April 2010. Two songs from the album, "Chit Chat" and "The Deep End", also appeared on a split single with Mark Watrous in 2009.
In 2016, she released a new full-length album, "For Evelyn", after several singles featuring tracks from said album.

You let me down
You let me down, again
Guess I thought you were my friend
But you let me down again
Tell me, can't you tell me
Go on and tell me that it's true
It's the least that you can do
You're talking shh about me
I'm talking shh about you
You're talking shh about me
I'm talking shh about you
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Can't you, can't you tell me
Why can't you tell me to my face
Are you just scared to talk to me
Now you're gonna walk away
You're talking shh about me
I'm talking shh about you
You're talking shh about me
I'm talking shh about you
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
If I thought you were my friend
Then this wouldn't be the end
{Repeat in the background:
If I thought you were my friend
Then this wouldn't be the end}
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
Bang bang you're dead
In Hannah Georgas's song Bang Bang You're Dead, the lyrics seemingly convey the disappointment, betrayal, and frustration felt by someone who has been let down repeatedly by a friend. The phrase "Bang bang you're dead" is often used as a form of childish retaliation or as a game, but in this song, it is used as a powerful metaphor for the end of a friendship. The repetition of the phrase throughout the song creates a sense of finality and emphasizes the emotional impact of the situation.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song as the singer expresses their disappointment with their friend who has let them down once again. The use of the phrase "Guess I thought you were my friend" shows that the singer has expected more from this friend who has repeatedly disappointed them. In the second verse, the singer confronts the friend, asking them to explain and apologize for their actions. However, the friend refuses to do so and opts to talk behind the singer's back instead. This further adds to the singer's frustration and hurt feelings.
The chorus of the song acts as a release of the singer's emotions with the repetition of "Bang bang you're dead" highlighting the finality of the situation. The bridge of the song shows the singer's desire for the friendship to continue, as they sing "If I thought you were my friend, then this wouldn't be the end". However, the friend's actions have made it clear that the friendship is over.
Overall, Hannah Georgas's Bang Bang You're Dead is a powerful song that explores the emotions of disappointment, betrayal, and frustration that come with the end of a friendship.
