Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, she played in a band with Tim Oxford of Arkells in high school before moving to Victoria, British Columbia to attend university.
While in university, she recorded a number of song demos in a friend's recording studio and quickly attracted the attention of other area musicians, releasing her début EP "The Beat Stuff" in 2008. The EP garnered airplay on CBC Radio 3, who later also named Georgas the winner of their 2009 Bucky Award for Best New Artist. Following a show in New York City in 2009, Georgas was invited to write a song for a Wal-Mart commercial; the resulting track, "You've Got a Place Called Home", ran in the store's Autumn advertising campaign.
She released her full-length début album, "This Is Good", on 27th April 2010. Two songs from the album, "Chit Chat" and "The Deep End", also appeared on a split single with Mark Watrous in 2009.
In 2016, she released a new full-length album, "For Evelyn", after several singles featuring tracks from said album.

If I was her all gone and scrabbles left only consonants for you
I can't say if it's right or if it's the wrong thing to do
Are you calling from a payphone this time?
The lines aren't clear is everything ok on your side?
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down
Who has a say on how the way things should be?
And who will take you home when the lights go on and your glass is empty?
Who will hold your breath when you're diving off ... the deep end?
Are you calling from a payphone this time?
The lines aren't clear is everything ok on your side?
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down
No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now
Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down
Don't let 'em break you down
Don't let 'em break you down
In Hannah Georgas's song "The Deep End," the lyrics explore themes of uncertainty, ambiguity, and anxiety. The singer in the song expresses her frustration with being unable to help someone she cares for, possibly a romantic partner, who seems to be struggling with some kind of personal crisis or difficult situation. The lines "And I can't play this game for you / If I was her all gone and scrabbles left only consonants for you / I can't say if it's right or if it's the wrong thing to do" suggest that the singer is at a loss for how to provide support or guidance. The metaphor of "scrabbles left only consonants" implies a jumbled, unintelligible mess, perhaps symbolizing the confusion and chaos of the situation.
The chorus of the song, "No one needs to know, no one needs to know right now / Take a deep breath and don't let 'em break you down," reinforces the idea that the person in crisis needs to take care of themselves and not worry about what others think or say. The repetition of "no one needs to know" suggests that the person may be struggling with shame or embarrassment. The reference to a payphone and unclear lines adds to the sense of ambiguity and confusion.
The second verse introduces new questions: "Who has a say on how the way things should be? / And who will take you home when the lights go on and your glass is empty? / Who will hold your breath when you're diving off ... the deep end?" These lines suggest that the person in crisis may feel judged or unsupported by others, and may not have anyone to turn to for help. The metaphor of "diving off the deep end" further emphasizes the idea of taking a risk or facing uncertainty.
Overall, "The Deep End" is a powerful expression of the challenges of supporting someone through difficult times, and the importance of self-care and self-acceptance in the face of uncertainty and anxiety.
