All my days are spent wanting to
Give it up, give it up and fall
Just give it up, give it up, give it all
All my words, I wrote them for you, all this hurt broke your heart in two
Give it up, give it up and fall
Just give it up, give it up, give it all
And hold my heart
All this time I've been waiting,
all the while I'm restating that you should
Give it up, give it up and fall
Just give it up, give it up, give it all
And hold my heart
And hold my heart
All my days are spent watching you
All my days are spent wanting to
Give it up, give it up and fall
Give it up, give it up, give it all
And hold my heart
And hold my heart
And hold my heart
In Hannah Trigwell's song Give It Up, the singer spends all their days watching and wanting someone. They have written all their words for this person and their hurt has broken this person's heart in two. The singer seems to be pleading with this person to give it up and fall for them, to let go of their reservations and fears and give in to their love. The repetition of the phrase "give it up" emphasizes the singer's desire and desperation. The singer wants this person to hold their heart and to finally give in to the love that has been waiting all this time.
These lyrics are relatable to anyone who has experienced unrequited love or has felt stuck in a one-sided relationship. The idea of wanting someone but not having them reciprocate those feelings can be painful and all-consuming. The singer's vulnerability and openness are further emphasized by the repetition of the phrase "hold my heart." They are essentially offering their heart up to this person, hoping that they will finally take it and give their love in return.
Overall, Hannah Trigwell's song Give It Up is a powerful and moving plea for love, encapsulating the feelings of longing, desperation, and vulnerability that come with putting your heart on the line.
