Too Close

I don't want to hurt you but I need to breathe
At the end of it all, you're still my best friend
But there's something inside that I need to release
Which way is right, which way is wrong
How do I say that I need to move on
You know we're headed separate ways
There's nothing I can really say
I can't lie no more, I can't hide no more
Got to be true to myself
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
So I'll be on my way
You gave me more that I can return
Yet there's so much that you deserve
Nothing to say, nothing to do,
I've nothing to give
I must leave without you
You know we're headed separate ways
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
There's nothing I can really say
I can't lie no more, I can't hide no more
Got to be true to myself
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
So I'll be on my way
So I'll be on my way
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
There's nothing that I can really say
I can't lie no more, I can't hide no more
Got to be true to myself
And it feels like I am just too close to love you
So I'll be on my way
So I'll be on my way
So I'll be on my way
Hannah Trigwell's song "Too Close" is a heart-wrenching breakup song that describes the internal struggle of ending a relationship with someone you still care for deeply. The song's opening lines, "You know I'm not one to break promises, I don't want to hurt you, but I need to breathe," set the tone for the rest of the track. The singer is conflicted because they don't want to be with their partner anymore, but they don't want to hurt them either. The chorus of the song, "And it feels like I am just too close to love you, there's nothing I can really say," is the heart of the matter. The singer recognizes that they are too emotionally invested in this person to continue the relationship, and they have to leave before they cause more harm.
The song's second verse, "You gave me more than I can return, yet there's so much that you deserve, nothing to say, nothing to do, I've nothing to give, I must leave without you," further underscores this point. The singer understands that their partner has given them everything, but they can't reciprocate that love. They recognize that leaving is the best course of action because they can't continue the relationship in good faith.
Overall, "Too Close" is a poignant song about the complexities of ending a relationship with someone you still care for deeply. It perfectly encapsulates the internal struggle of wanting to be with someone, but understanding that leaving is the best course of action.

Your voice with the acoustic is in my opinion , better than the original. Because the meaning of the song is really deep , and the way you did it , i don't know..it's just..eh , a little closer to my heart.

Something I really admire about her is that she doesn't sound good because she's channeling the emotion, she sounds good because she's channeling the essence of the song, the music itself. Rare quality, I like it a lot.
