They toured all over the world setting attendance records and unprecedented record sales in more than 20 countries. They also performed for then President and Mrs. Reagan at the White House where they shared stage honors with Tina Turner, Barry Manilow and Tony Bennett. Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Deja que mueva la cintura
Deja que baile con soltura
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, pegaita
Bailala pegaita, pegaita, apretaita
The lyrics to Hansel y Raúl's song "Báilala Pegaita" celebrate the sensuality and passion of dancing closely with a romantic partner. The verses ask why love flourishes when dancing tightly together and why it grows stronger when dancing intimately. The song encourages the listener to let their partner move their waist with ease and to dance freely and confidently, allowing the magic of their figure to be highlighted. The refrain repeats the title phrase, urging the listener to dance closely and tightly with their partner, ignoring any jealousy or judgment from others.
The lyrics to "Báilala Pegaita" showcase the importance of physicality and intimacy in Latin music, specifically in salsa and timba. The song encourages the listener to let go of any inhibitions and embrace the pleasure of dancing with a partner, even in the face of potential judgment from others. This theme of freedom and sensuality is a common one in Latin music, particularly in the salsa and timba genres. The song's upbeat tempo, driving horn section, and infectious melody also reflect the celebratory and joyful spirit of these musical styles.
Interestingly, Hansel y Raúl were a Cuban-born musical duo who were popular in the 1980s and 1990s. "Báilala Pegaita" was released in 1990 and became a hit both in Cuba and abroad. The song's popularity helped to cement the duo's reputation as one of the leading acts in the timba genre, with their music blending elements of salsa, jazz, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Today, "Báilala Pegaita" is still considered a classic of the timba genre and is frequently played at Latin dance clubs around the world.
