Christmas
Hanson (Holiday) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

They're singing Deck the Halls
But it's not like Christmas at all
I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year
Christmas (oh, the snow's coming down)
Christmas (now I'm watching it fall)
Christmas (watching all the people around)
Christmas (baby, please, come home)
Christmas (now the church bells in town)
Christmas (oh, they're singing our song)
Christmas (what a happy sound)
Christmas (baby, please, come home)
They're singing Deck the Halls
But it's not like Christmas at all
I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year
Christmas (oh, the snow's coming down)
Christmas (now I'm watching it fall)
Christmas (watching all the people around)
Christmas (baby, please, come home)
They're singing Deck the Halls
But it's not like Christmas at all
I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year
Christmas (oh, the snow's coming down)
Christmas (now I'm watching it fall)
Christmas (watching all the people around)
Baby, baby, baby, please, come home
Baby, baby, baby, please, come home
Oh, the snow's coming down
I'm watching it fall
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, please, come home

The snow's coming down
Baby, please, come home

Overall Meaning

The song "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" by Darling Love inspired Hanson's "Christmas" song. Hanson's version echoes this song's sense of loss, longing and sadness during the holiday season. The lyrics of the song express the feeling of emptiness and incompleteness due to the absence of a loved one during Christmas. The inclusion of the line from "Deck the Halls" creates an ironic contrast between the traditional brightness and cheerfulness of Christmas and the bleakness of the singer's feelings.

The lines "Christmas, now I'm watching it fall / Watching all the people around" suggest that while everyone else is enjoying the festive season, the singer feels isolated and disconnected from it all. The inclusion of "church bells" in the lyrics reflects the religious aspect of the holiday and underscores the fact that Christmas is meant to be celebrated with loved ones. Overall, the song captures the bittersweet feeling of Christmas, a time when nostalgia and longing mix with the joy and excitement of the holidays.

FINALLY ITS CHRISTMAS
It's been said many ways
Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays
Don't matter if you're nine or ninety-eight
Everyone's waiting for the chance to say
Finally it's Christmas, yeah, feels good
Around this time of year
You can't deny there's something in the air
If you're in London or in Santa Fe
You'll hope for snow to fall on Christmas day, Finally it's Christmas

Don't delay Santa's on his way
So get your stockings up In time for Christmas day
Don't dismay throw your cares away, It's gonna be okay
Finally it's Christmas, finally it's Christmas
Feels like we've been waiting all year
Finally it's Christmas
Can't you feel the Christmas time cheer

All of the plans are made
So tell your urgent call that it can wait
Just sit back and listen for the reindeer on the rooftop
Flying North Pole to Tulsa on a non-stop
I hear the church bells ring
The chorus welcoming the newborn king
Good will and love is what the savior brings
Now the world comes together and sings

Finally it's Christmas, feels like we've been waiting all year
Finally it's Christmas, can't you feel the Christmas time cheer
Finally it's Christmas

Don't delay, santa's on his way
So get your stockings up in time for Christmas day
Don't dismay throw your cares away
It's gonna be okay finally it's Christmas day
Shake your Christmas bells
Finally it's Christmas, frels like we've been waiting all year
You know fnally it's Christmas, feels like we've been waiting all year
(Finally it's Christmas)
Shake your bells like you mean it now, let's celebrate
Finally it's Christmas (Finally it's Christmas)
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas!

The most genuine band, from kids to adults. They didn't become egotistical and haven't sold their soul like so many artists have. Hanson is the Real Deal! Absolute Admiration and nothing but Love for these guys. Bravo!

I have loved 😍 Hanson's music for 25 years now and still since the year 1997.

The thing about Hanson is that, whether you're listening to MMMBop, or this, or to I Was Born, their music ALWAYS made, and still makes, you feel happy!! The messages in their songs evoke so much joy: joy from the 1990's through today. And the songs always make you want to get up and dance!!! God Bless You, Hansons!!!!!

Wow! This is one of the bests music videos ever. The beggining made me cry, I love that era when Zac used to getting excited about something and Taylor react like "Hey, man. Calm down". I liked the transition through decades, also the fact of use diferent cameras to make these real. The changes between scenes leaved me breathless, such a great production. And I need to mention that the virtual reality glasses in the end is a very good message - I think it means "welcome" to the new generations of fans and that you guys believe that more and more people will get to know Hanson and enjoy all the jobs of your carrer. Congratulations, Hanson and all the profissionals responsible for this master piece! Thank you for care about each detail and give us this Christmas gift.
(with all my respect, 'thank you' from Brazil)
