Being upset about you and me
Impale myself on a shard of glass
Rather than think our relationship could last
I hope I am bringing you joy (x2)
And I walk through the valleys
I saw the light bursting from your eyes
And I walk through the valleys
I hope you instil me in time
I hope you frame me in your mind
I infringe on your benefits
Misunderstood I am not a liar
And I could have loved you maybe baby (x2)
And I walk through the valleys
I saw the light bursting from your eyes
And I walk through the valleys
I saw something that maybe I shouldn't of
And you will sacrifice feelings for fame
And I feel like a shadow of a dream
And I dreamt of rebel moons out of place
And you will sacrifice feelings for fame
You will sacrifice feelings, feelings for for for fame
You will sacrifice your heart, feelings, feelings, for for for
For fame (x4)
You will sacrifice feelings, feelings for for for fame
You will sacrifice your heart, feelings, feelings, for for for
For fame (x2)
Not gonna waste my energy
Being upset about you and me
The lyrics of Harry's song "Valley" expresses the singer's feelings about a failed relationship. He is determined not to allow himself to wallow in his emotions, despite the pain that he is experiencing. He chooses to focus on bringing joy to his former lover, but he also admits that he saw something that he shouldn't have while walking through the valleys. This could be interpreted as him seeing his former partner with someone else or performing an act that he did not approve of.
He hopes to be remembered by his partner and not seen as a liar. He admits to having the capacity to love his partner, but it is too late. He saw the light bursting from his partner's eyes while they were together, highlighting the good in the relationship. However, he also acknowledges that his partner values fame more than feelings and that he feels like a shadow of a dream. He may have had high expectations for the relationship, including dreams of a future together, but these were shattered by the reality of their situation. Ultimately, he realizes that it is not worth it to waste his energy being upset about the end of their relationship.

I love how old folk songs, well into the 20th Century, were passed along between artists and every rendition was unique. As a musician, that is what music is all about! Everything is licensed property now.
