Harry Belafonte Lyrics

Jangan dengarkan gosip murahan tentang aku
Berjanjilah sayang ku slalu setia
Meski ku tak selalu di sampingmu
Tak usah kau menangis meratapi aku
Tak perlu kau berfikir ku meninggalkanmu
Hangati tubuhku dalam kedinginan
Malam malam panjang setiap tidurku
Selalu kesepian
Mana mungkin selimut tetangga
Hangati tubuhku dalam kedinginan
Malam malam panjang setiap tidurku
Selalu kesepian
Berjanjilah sayang ku slalu setia
Meski ku tak selalu di sampingmu
Tak usah kau menangis meratapi aku
Tak perlu kau berfikir ku meninggalkanmu
Tak usah kau menangis meratapi aku
Tak perlu kau berfikir ku meninggalkanmu
Mana mungkin selimut tetangga
Hangati tubuhku dalam kedinginan
Malam malam panjang setiap tidurku
Selalu kesepian
Mana mungkin selimut tetangga
Hangati tubuhku dalam kedinginan
Malam malam panjang setiap tidurku
Selalu kesepian
Bersabarlah sayang aku akan pulang
The lyrics to Harry Belafonte's song "Bamotsweri" depict a longing for a loved one who is far away. The singer urges his beloved to be patient, saying that he will return to her. He also reassures her that she should not listen to gossip or worry about him leaving her, because he promises to always be faithful even if he is not always by her side. The repeated refrain about the impossibility of finding warmth in someone else's blanket highlights the loneliness the singer experiences during those long nights away from his loved one.
The song creates a vivid image of a love that is tested by distance and time, but remains steadfast. The lyrics show the singer's vulnerability and his desire to be with his loved one, while also reassuring her of his commitment. The song's slow, soothing melody and repetitive refrain add to the feeling of longing and make it seem like the singer is speaking directly to his beloved.
