Louise
Harvard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Whole to my break
I know what you think
You are the another one
Everything passing thing
You'll not remember
Whole of my fake
You don't know what I think
I just feel to you too
Everything passing thing
I'll not remember
Why can't we close
Through we kiss everynight
Whole let me down
Waiting sunrise
<>
Whole of my heart
I noticed
I loved you You loved me
Though we know each other
<>
Why couldn't we close
Through we kissed everyday
Whole let me down
After sunset shades me over
Why couldn't be close
Through we kissed everyday

Whole let me down
After sunset

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Harvard's song "Louise" are quite abstract and open to interpretation. On a surface level, the chorus suggests a couple who kiss each other every night yet remain distant and unable to truly connect. The verses expand on this theme, with the singer acknowledging their own fake persona and realizing Louise's lack of interest despite outward appearances. The last two lines of each verse, "I'll not remember / After sunset," could imply a fleeting, meaningless relationship that will soon be forgotten.

However, there are deeper emotions at play in the song as well. The line "Whole of my heart / I noticed" suggests the singer has been hurt before and is wary of giving their all in a relationship. Despite this, they are willing to love Louise and believe she loves them back. The repeated phrase "Why couldn't we close / Through we kissed everyday / Whole let me down / After sunset" could represent the frustration and disappointment of a relationship that never progresses beyond physical affection.

Overall, "Louise" paints a picture of a relationship that is passionate yet ultimately unfulfilling. The two partners are unable to truly connect on an emotional level, and the singer is left to wonder why things couldn't be different.

@@I.owe.it.all.to.Jesus. In our theology, we distinguish our religious rules (Commandments, dos and don’ts) to be one of these two categories:
״בין אדם למקום״
(between a man and his God)
And
״בין אדם לחברו״
(between a man and his friend - meaning between people)

In the first category are the divine rules that cannot be easily explained or reasoned (why, for instance, mustn’t Jewish eat meat and milk at the same meal? We do not know the reasoning for these rules although our scholars and theologists have been debating them for thousands of years)
These rules are not to be forced upon others
They are private between a person and his God, and we do not judge others decision, whether they do, or do not choose to practices them

The second kind (between a man and his friend) are considered universal
These are rules (for instance “Thou shalt not kill” which in the Hebrew Bible is stated as ״לא תרצח״ which is better translated as ״Thou shalt not murder״) are derived from the moral compass any man or woman is born with
You do not need to be of specific faith or religion to know these to be true and good and the opposite evil

It is one thing when theology Turns the “between a man and his God” rules on their head (for instance, the calling for jihad - forcefully making people except “God’s love“ by means of war)
But it is a whole other thing when secular reasoning, becomes a broken moral compass in matters “between a man and his friend”

Whether secular or religious,
Weather you believe knowing right from wrong is a gift we receive from the good grace of God or if you believe it is gifted to us by evolution (so as to keep us functioning as a species) - when people become so blind as not to see “calling for genocide“ as being outside the realm of “free speech“ - we are doomed

@JohnCarterIsMyName

Nope. They were all CORRECT.

Please tell us how you teach students about the Holocaust in the 1930-40s without saying that Hitler called for "the genocide of jews"?

You can't.
.
If we don't teach that Hitler called for "the genocide of jews", then it's antisemitism because we're not saying; Hitler called for "the genocide of jews" .. Right?

As Democrat I’m very disappointed with the Harvard President’s lack of candor and answers. All the questions by Republican congresswoman Elise were quite fair in this clip. A school administrator should not be on the fence about explicit or implicit calls for genocide being a violation of school policy.

@pkoven

thank you for saying that. it's nice to see a Democrat admitting that.

@user-zq4fv8sj6v

Jews traditionally discriminate against blacks so this type of retributive conduct against whites by Claudine is expected.

@Bananabear20

Provide facts to back up your claim or get out.

@Bananabear20

And we can provide a log history of Jews standing up for and with black civil rights, however

@bobcrossley917

I am a republican and I agree with you 100%.

“Calling for genocide is not bullying or harassment.” Seriously, this lady is nuts.

@rsdch

yes....Calling for genocide “Claudine Gay” is not bullying or harassment.🤣😂🤣

@richardsarabi2064

No, you don't understand. Saying the south will rise again could scare the hell out of black people. Would want anyone who said that to be expelled???

@winry2357

@@richardsarabi2064 first, I’ve never heard anyone say that. Second, no one has ever said that while meaning that they want slavery to be legal or to mean they want a genocide of black people. This lady straight up admitted that she knows these people are calling for genocide and said that it is not the same as bullying or harassment.
