The lyrics to Hassan Hakmoun's "Saba Atu Rijal," featuring Don Cherry, are in Arabic and their meaning is quite complex. However, one interpretation of the lyrics could be that they are praising and singing the praises of a religious figure, possibly a renowned scholar, who embodies knowledge and spirituality. The repeated phrase "Mushohabaturrijal" seems to refer to being in the company of such individuals and striving to emulate their virtues. The song also discusses the idea of leaving the material world behind and entering the realm of eternal life, along with the notion of being patient in the face of life's hardships, and putting one's faith in God.
Overall, the lyrics reveal an intense devotion and reverence for this individual, who is seen as a guide towards enlightenment and spiritual fulfillment. The repetition of certain phrases and words, such as "fî dâril fanâ-i" (in the house of annihilation) and "ghunmin" (beyond), add to the mystical and spiritual tone of the song, evoking a sense of transcendence and otherworldliness.
