Muoviruusuja omenapuissa
Hassisen Kone Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hymyillen uinuvat mainosten suossa
On mukavaa olla mainos pihalla
Ihanaa vastata rakkauteen vihalla
Jos joku silmästä silmään mua katsoa alkaa
Minä saan katsoa paljasta malkaa
Sokeita länsimaisia teitä
Koristavia orjantappuraseppeleitä
Te olette muoviruusuja omenapuissa
Plastisia lauseita lasten suissa
Soluissa vieraat geenit
Migreeni jumalaisten puutarhojen torppareilla
Karjalan urheat urhot on kuolleet
Ihanien impien korvista vuolleet
Pahat päälliköt tuhkakuppeja
Joistain tehty on jopa koristenuppeja
Suurilla saloilla leijuu sumu
Josta ei huou pihkaa vaan läntinen humu
Katso vanhaa tulipunakukan Olaa
Hänen puhkotuista silmistään valuu Coca-colaa
CHORUS
Salojen lapset, mä tätä vain hoen
Koska rappionne niin raskaana koen
Kaduilla lojuu vain ihmisenkuoria
Katsokaa Karjalan urhoja nuoria
Onko Amerikka taivas, onko Jumala siellä?
Onko persoonallisuus oman menestyksen tiellä?
On maaseutu vaipunut kyyneliin
Sillä Jumala on muuttanut kaupunkiin
CHORUS
The lyrics of "Muoviruusuja omenapuissa" by Hassisen Kone depict a bleak and cynical view of contemporary society. The opening lines describe empty human shells smiling in the marsh of advertisements; people who have become automatons, lulled into a complacent consumerism. The singer admires the power that advertising wields, manipulating people into responding to love with hatred. When someone tries to look the singer in the eye, they are met with a gaze that exposes the hypocrisy and immorality of their actions.
The chorus repeats the phrase "you are plastic roses in apple trees," a metaphor for the illusory set of values and ideals that people are fed through mass media. The children of this society are growing up with meaningless phrases and superficial language, while foreign genes invade their cells and a migraine torments the workers in the divine gardens. The heroes of Karelia have died, and the maidens weep for them. The leaders are now nothing more than ashtrays or decorative buttons. The vast vistas of the countryside are shrouded in fog, and even the eyes of the old fireweed Ola now ooze Coca-Cola.
The singer is addressing the children of the country, warning them that they are witnessing the decline and fall of their society. The streets are littered with empty shells of human beings, and the singer implores them to look to the young heroes of Karelia for inspiration. They question whether America is heaven or if God resides there, and wonder if individuality is a hindrance to success. Finally, the singer laments that God has abandoned the countryside in favor of the city.

Tää Hassisen kone oli loistava bändi. Kolme hienoa levyä ja that¨s it. Sielun veljien ja Ismo Alankgon soolotuotanto onkin sitten jo täyttä skeidaa.
