Stop pretending and taking a facade of happiness when everything is actually dark and dismal.

Without the threat of death
Without a horrifying and clear sense of danger, there's no point or motivation to live and grow.

There's no reason to live at all
Without struggle and hardship, existence itself holds no true value or meaning.

There's no external force or deity that can absolve us of our sins or mistakes, we must face ourselves and take responsibility for our actions.
