Influencied by punk rock, hardcore and indie rock, the group tries to keep its own style and to play a very personal music.
Specially in the lyrics, the group shows the real and sincere feelings of daily situations, with a strong emotional content.
That's maybe the reason why they create such a big involvement with their public.
Rodrigo Koala [guitar and vocal], Ricardo di Roberto [drums], and Cesar Santisteban [bass and vocal] gave concerts all over the country, recorded their first demo "Blind Youth" and the first album "Hydrophobia" (Choice Records). In 1996, another guitar player, Boris Fratogianni, joined the group and they recorded, in 1998, the album "Feeling like Nick" (Holiday Records), which is sold out. A few months after, Santisteban left the group and Fernando Sanches [[artist]Dance of Days, Small Talk, Againe, Van Damien, actually CPM 22] took his place.
"Teenage X-Mas Song" was recorded in 2001, in a CD specially made for a Christmas Party at the Hangar 110, a punk rock night-club in Sao Paulo, with the four of them, plus Maurício Takara. The first live album, "More Live Than Dead", was recorded in 2002, at the Hangar 110. The group has also a cover of the American band Husker Dü (Don't Wanna Know if You're Lonely). At the end of 2002, Fernando Sanches has left the group and Andre Abreu (Dé) joined it.
The aim of the group is still the same as it was in the beggining: play as much as possible, at the most different places and keep the integrity of emotion of its music.

Alone
Hateen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But now is even harder
My head aches
I'm alone even when I'm with you
Even with my friends
Something is wrong
In this world we live in
Everything is old and I just can't stand it
Where the hell is it?
Open up your window
What do you really see?
See the children playing with guns
See the government having fun
Is that the world we love so much?
Sometimes the world kisses you with a punch
The lyrics of Hateen's song "Alone" speak to feelings of isolation and dissatisfaction with the world. The opening line, "I am alone," sets the tone for the rest of the song and expresses a sense of solitude. The next line, "But now is even harder," suggests that the loneliness has intensified or become more challenging than before.
The lyrics continue with "My head aches, I'm alone even when I'm with you, even with my friends." These lines convey a deeper level of loneliness, where despite being in the company of others, the singer still feels a sense of isolation. This suggests a lack of emotional connection or fulfillment in their relationships.
The following lines, "Something is wrong, in this world we live in, everything is old and I just can't stand it," point to a general dissatisfaction with the current state of the world. The singer feels that something is not right and everything they encounter feels stagnant or repetitive. This suggests a desire for change and a longing for something new and fresh.
The lyrics then ask a rhetorical question, "If there is love, where the hell is it?" This line expresses a sentiment of frustration and disillusionment. The singer questions the existence of love in a world that seems to be lacking it. This line reflects a longing for love and connection, but feeling unable to find it or see it present in the world.
The final verse paints a dark and critical view of the world, with the lines "Open up your window, what do you really see? See the children playing with guns, see the government having fun. Is that the world we love so much? Sometimes the world kisses you with a punch." Here, the singer highlights the harsh reality of society, witnessing children engaging in violence and the government seemingly enjoying power and control. This critique suggests that the world we claim to love can often be harsh and hurtful, as symbolized by the metaphor of being kissed with a punch.
Overall, "Alone" portrays feelings of loneliness, discontentment with the world, and a yearning for love and connection. The lyrics offer a critique of society, acknowledging its flaws and questioning the presence of love in such a world.
