Today Haus Arafna is numbered among the protagonists of the so-called "post-industrial" genre. The long creative period from the youthful years till today, has resulted in a multi-layered and extraordinarily varied sound. It would take more than just one or two songs to convey the full extent of Haus Arafna's output.
While the beginnings were stamped with energetic noise-eruptions Mr. and Mrs. Arafna rapidly developed their own unique mix, combining different streams of dark electronic music in an inimitable fashion, resulting in Haus Arafna's outstanding status.
To reinforce this Galakthorrö reanimated the genre-phantom "angst pop", at the same time distinguishing it from the the already belaboured "industrial" tag. However, there is no denying the roots of Haus Arafna: The raw lo-fi sound image, analogue synthesizer sounds, noise rhythms, and tape footage point to the "industrial music" of the 1970s.
In contrast to how things were done back then, Haus Arafna now strives continually to cultivate more and more new experimentation and improvisation, with text and vocals to be developed into innovative inspiring Songs. Over and again, certain pieces produce such levels of energy, that DJs try them out on the dance-floor. That is why Haus Arafna has become known beyond the borders of the Industrial scene, with such club hits as "The Last Dream of Jesus", or "Für Immer".
Haus Arafna do not however make dance music, neither does their work serve as mere entertainment. Haus Arafna considers art as the battlefield of the soul, and steer with their music through the deep morass of the human mind. The inability of people to conquer the negative aspects of life in the community is demonstrated through Haus Arafna's manifold use of symbols, metaphors, and double-entendre. In this way the duo has been able to construct, with the help of their omni-present musical characteristics, a frame for the whole of their artwork, which is also not lacking in graphical identity.

Invisible
Haus Arafna Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My Shoes,
My Shirt,
My Trousers and my Underwear.
I tear off my Toe- and Fingernails.
I rip off my Hair.
I peel off my Skin.
I remove my Guts.
I lance my Veins.
I cut out my Heart.
I discard.
I trash on my Head;
Until my Brain comes out.
I discard.
My Bones for the Dog.
My Flesh for the Cat.
The Rest for the Pig.
The lyrics to Haus Arafna's "Invisible" are highly disturbing and graphic, depicting a brutal and self-destructive act of self-mutilation. The singer describes in detail the different parts of their body that they are tearing, ripping, and cutting off, and discarding them one by one. The final lines of the song indicate that the person is planning to dispose of their body parts to animals, suggesting a complete rejection of their own humanity and a desire to become invisible, or non-existent.
The song's lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on the listener's perspective. Some may see it as a commentary on the pressures of conforming to societal norms and expectations, while others may interpret it as a reflection of deep-seated self-hatred and a desire for self-annihilation. The song's somber and eerie music adds to its haunting atmosphere, emphasizing the bleakness and futility of the singer's actions.
Overall, "Invisible" is a challenging and thought-provoking piece of music that is likely to evoke strong emotions in listeners. Its vivid and disturbing lyrics force the listener to confront uncomfortable truths about themselves and the world around them, making it a powerful work of art.
