Overall Meaning

The song "If" by Hawkeye is a dancehall track that explores various scenarios of meeting an attractive woman. The song's hook asks the listener what they would do if they met a particular girl, who is described as being very curvy and attractive. The lyrics suggest that the woman in question has a certain power over men, causing them to become infatuated with her and potentially make poor decisions.

The first verse talks about meeting a girl who is incredibly overweight, to the point of splitting her clothing. The scenario implies that the singer is already under the influence of alcohol and drugs, adding an element of danger to the situation. The chorus repeats the question of what one would do in this scenario, emphasizing the power that the woman has over the singer.

The second verse describes the woman being pursued by multiple men, but the singer believes that he has the charm and charisma to win her over. He describes making her feel comfortable and then putting on a performance that would impress her. The chorus again emphasizes the woman's power over men and their desire for her.

Overall, the song "If" by Hawkeye is a commentary on male desire and the ways in which women can have power over men. It describes scenarios in which men make poor decisions in the presence of an attractive woman, emphasizing the idea that desire can lead to recklessness.

I'm surprised by the lack of Clint Barton appreciation after this episode aired. Dude showed off his badassery, right alongside Nat -- his sacrifice wasn't his only memorable moment. Thanks for posting this video.

@Scarlett Kara that's also what I've seen

@Marvin Gonzalez // Instagram and YouTube mostly... which already cherry picks from Twitter, Tumblr, and Reddit.

Marvin Gonzalez

@Scarlett Kara what sites have you seen them on?

Scarlett Kara

@Marvin Gonzalez // Oh cool. Can you tell me where (please) -- bc the most I've seen was focus on the sacrifice parallel (and his death) and the Uatu panicking.

The singular exceptions are 1) a post about the art of Hawkeye's sacrifice being beautiful (... which, honestly, I thought the same about Vormir), and 2) a post relating to the line "my will to live is flat-lining. Hawkeye was a badass in this ep, and yet most of the focus was on Nat and Uatu. Which is great. But... nil on Clint.

Thank you for this!! I’m literally the biggest Hawkeye fan in the world and loved this episode so much, although I am a little annoyed they gave him a compound bow instead of his usual recurve but he was still a total badass!!!

iCantPickaName

Hello I am also the biggest Hawkeye fan in the world lol. Jk but he is my favorite avenger. I was also a little at odds with the compound bow lol.
