At the end of 2016, Hayley celebrated the release of her major-label debut EP CITRINE, which included pop confections "Pretty Girl" and "Palace", by launching her nationwide "One Bad Night Tour". The completely sold-out headline tour saw Hayley performing her new music for her passionate and devoted fans in cities throughout the US. According to Baeble, Hayley "managed to turn a sold out Studio at Webster Hall into an intimate dance party for everyone to feel free in a safe zone."
Following singles including "Sleepover", "Feelings", and "Curious" have been released to accompany her debut studio album Expectations, which was released on March 30, 2018. The album reached the top 20 of the charts in United States, Canada and Australia. She has also created a comic book, with the help of Naomi Franquiz and Marla Vazquez, based on her song "Gravel to Tempo".
Kiyoko was a founding member of The Stunners in 2007. The group supported Justin Bieber's My World Tour, before disbanding in 2011.
Kiyoko was born to figure skater/choreographer Sarah Kawahara and actor/comedian Jamie Alcroft. Her mother is from Canada and her father is from Ohio, USA.

(Belle de se rappeler)
Get out
You're so old
You're out
I'm cold
You've got me on tight
I'm buzzing, stinging
Wanting my sweet
Dig in and you flee
Your moves are off-beat
I'm trying to get by
I'm in a beehive
I'm wanting feelings
You once had for me
So go ahead, break my heart
You'll keep hearing me from afar
'Cause I'm a belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
(Belle de se rappeler)
(Belle de se rappeler)
Rebound you might have
The girls won't match
You try to get by
I can't leave your mind
I'm swimming
You're wanting, honey
Too bad, it's your loss
You left me undone
You said your goodbye
I've left my beehive
I'm searching, living
Wanting some peace
'Cause I'm a belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
(Go ahead and break my heart)
(Go ahead and break my heart)
'Cause I'm a belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Belle to remember
(Go ahead, break my heart)
(You'll keep hearing me from afar)
I'm a belle to remember
Do you remember?
A belle to remember
You'll want to love me
Go ahead and break my heart
Go ahead and break my heart
(Belle de se rappeler)
The lyrics of Hayley Kiyoko's song "A Belle to Remember" tell a story of a woman who is in a relationship with an older man who has lost interest in her. She feels trapped and used, buzzing like a bee, but still holding onto the hope that he will come to love her again. She knows that she is unforgettable, and that he will one day want her back. The repeated refrain of "belle de se rappeler" (a belle to remember) highlights her self-awareness and confidence in her own worth, despite her painful situation.
The theme of the song can be understood as a warning against staying in toxic relationships and settling for less than one's worth. The woman in the song may be longing for love and validation, but she is ultimately strong and independent, believing in her own value and refusing to let this man break her completely. Ultimately, the song is a call to self-love and self-respect, reminding listeners that they too are belles (or beaux) to remember.
