Seven
Head Control System Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I give you my heart
To hold in your folded hands, where it burns

Cold (Frail), cold and frail (Breaks)
It breaks
Frail, in ruins
It’s cold it breaks to ruin
It's cold it breaks in two

Dying down, crying for, dying for an end to the world
For I to hide from the times of the war
Missing all the silence of the lambs of Zion

Graze on grace
Saved by faith
They do not care but lust for justice from God

It’s cold it breaks in ruins

Graze on grace saved by faith
They do not care but lust for justice from God
In her prayers

I try to love but it does not work. The blood
Runs into the soils to give and take
Regardless of what I say and do
To you the beautiful light to my dark reason

And the season is spring and birds sing
Our
Requiem
For a dream

For a dream of paradise lost
Again and again and again

Graze on grace saved by faith
Graze on grace saved by faith
Graze on grace saved by faith
They do not care

Saved by faith
They do not care

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Head Control System's song Seven seem to reflect the emotional turmoil of someone who has given their heart to someone else but it hasn't worked out. The first part of the song talks about giving their heart to someone and it being held in their hands. The heart burns but it is also fragile and can break easily. The second part of the song talks about the person's desire for the world to end so that they can hide from the pain they are feeling. They miss the silence and peacefulness they used to feel.

The third part of the song seems to talk about religion and the search for justice from God. The person feels that they are saved by faith and grace but that others do not care about justice. They mention someone else's prayers as if they find it comforting. The fourth part of the song talks about their attempts to move on and find love again, but it doesn't seem to work. The metaphoric image of blood running into the soil seems to reflect their feelings of being drained emotionally.

Finally, the last part of the song seems to be a chorus of sorts. The repetition of the phrases "graze on grace, saved by faith" seems to reinforce the idea of the person finding comfort in religion. They also seem to recognize that others might not feel the same way, hence the phrase "they do not care". The song ends with a mournful note, as if the person is mourning a dream of paradise lost.

Garm...my personal favorite, and one of the best and most underrated singers of all time. He has the exquisite balance of the masculine and the feminine. These songs are wonderful.. I have listened to them SO many times

@InvisibleSandwichTM

Kind of sounds like they applied the general sound of Ulver's Blood Inside to rock/metal songs. Fun!
