Before the band's second single Crap Head, bassist Kawady decided to leave and was replaced by Narumi. Playing at small venues all over Japan, they started to gain more popularity. In 2002, Head Phones President made their first international tour, including a stop in New York City.
Head Phones President's first album Vary was released in late 2003, after which the band returned to America for another short tour and started releasing CDs in the United States.
In 2005 Okaji left the band, desiring to make his own music. They recruited a support drummer Batch, who was made an official member in 2009. They continued to tour Japan, taking intermittent breaks, allowing Anza to work on her solo career.
The end of 2006 saw the release of their first live DVD, Toy's Box in August. The band desired still to tour Europe, and in February 2007, they went to Sweden for two performances.
In November, they performed at the animation convention Pacific Media Expo in Los Angeles, California. The bands next album, Folie a Deux, was released on December 12, 2007.
In July 2008, they played the Formoz Music Festival in Taipei, Taiwan, and due to popular demand, they returned to the country again on July 2009 to play a club date in Taipei.
The latest album, Prodigium, will be released on October 7, 2009.

The song "Wandering" by Head Phones President is a thought-provoking piece that seems to be grappling with the idea of authenticity and individuality. The repeated lines "Is the style my own style? Is the style your style? Your own style?" suggests a questioning and a blurring of boundaries between what is original and what is borrowed. In essence, the song is drawing attention to the inescapable fact that everything is influenced by something else, and thus it might be difficult to pinpoint a particular style as truly original or belonging to a certain person.
The chorus, "I disguise myself, you disguise yourself, everybody hides, everybody's mind," further reinforces the idea that people don't always show their true selves and that there may be aspects of themselves that they hide or disguise. This could be a critique of the society we live in, where people often conform to certain norms and ideals in order to fit in or be accepted. The repeated use of the phrase "everybody's mind" suggests that there is a collective pressure to conform and hide, rather than to express and be true to oneself.
The repeated phrase "wandering around," coupled with the mention of "the lie and the truth," seems to suggest a search for something elusive or uncertain. This could be interpreted as a metaphor for the search for authenticity and clarity amidst the noise and influences of the world. Overall, the song seems to be urging listeners to reflect on their own sense of style, individuality, and truth, and to question whether they are simply following the crowd or whether they are truly expressing their authentic selves.
