HEADRUSH - The Story So Far
Members: Andy Law (Lead Vocals); Dave Leese (Lead & Rhythm guitars); Chris Khosa (Lead & Rhythm); Tom Shaw (Bass Guitar); Bob Myatt (Drums & Percussion)
Background: Headrush are in negotiations over a Publishing Deal with ‘The New Black Corporation’ which is headed by the A&R man who signed ‘The Hives’ ‘HIM’ ‘Beth Orton’ ‘Death in Vegas’ and even ‘Kylie Minogue’ as well as working with such industry giants as the legendary ‘Clive Davis’.
Headrush began when guitarist Dave 'sleeze' Leese met singer Andy Law at a gig Andy was playing with his former band, Andy auditioned by singing 'Dead or alive' on Karaoke and the rest is history! Andy has a natural ability for melody and has already been likened to such legends as Bruce Dickinson, Sebastian Bach, Graham Bonnet, and Steve Perry whilst still managing to retain his own unique style and charisma. Drummer Bob Myatt brought in his Aerosmith styled, Funky Rock Drumming to the band, and Tom Shaw was added to the band with a unique 5-string full on Bass attack that lays down the bands booming, heavy trademark sound. Last of all Chris 'The Tramp' Khosa brought in a rip-roaring chainsaw 2nd guitar, and developed a classic twin lead guitar partnership with founder member Dave ' sleeze' Leese, leading to mutually assured guitar destruction!
Headrush's direction, musically and stylistically, is in the vein of such greats as Guns'n'Roses, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, and AC/DC. With Dave and Chris (Guitars) and Andy (Vocals) forming the bands songwriting partnership, Bob and Tom providing the driving rhythm, Headrush's live shows are full of high octane energy and 100% fun.
With songs full of big choruses, infectious melodies, and riffs that stick in your head after one listen, Headrush have a list of songs that are sure-fire singles. The quintet ring true to their own catchphrase - 'Back again...Rock'n'roll.' The Rock'n'Roll anthem 'Perfect Drug', the explosive ‘A Thousand Pictures’, the uplifting 'Saviour', and pure in your face attitude of 'Just Bring It On' make up Headrush's debut single EP, along with a whole albums worth of future singles such as the driving 'Where I Belong', the epic 'Fallin', and the heart tugging 'Set In Stone'.

Less Than Beautiful

I just watch your lips they never seem to end
I thought things would be fine
You take what you like as long as it's not mine
Again, again
I hate to disappoint you I'm doing fine without you
I'm sorry that I made you feel less than beautiful
I hate to disappoint you
I'm better off without you
I made you feel less than beautiful
Why can't you try to relax
You say what you like but just don't talk back
Why can't you hear what I say
You can do what you like as long as it's my way
Again, again
I hate to disappoint you
I'm doing fine without you
I'm sorry that I made you feel less than beautiful
I hate to disappoint you
I'm better off without you
I made you feel less than beautiful
It's not the time or the place to be up in my face
So this won't go anywhere
It's not the air that I breathe that will stop what you need
So this won't go anywhere
You can be loved or replaced or stare out into space
But this won't go anywhere
I hate to disappoint you
I'm doing fine without you
I'm sorry that I made you feel less than beautiful
I hate to disappoint you
I'm better off without you
I made you feel less than beautiful
I hate to disappoint you
I should've gone around you
You make me feel less than beautiful
In the lyrics of "Less Than Beautiful" by Headrush, the singer expresses their disappointment in a failed friendship with someone who was selfish and didn't reciprocate their care and consideration. They had hoped to be friends and expected things to be okay with mutual respect, but the other person's behavior didn't align with their expectations. The singer feels belittled, criticized, and unappreciated by the other person's constant talking and one-sidedness. Despite the singer's efforts to communicate and compromise, the other person only wants things their way and doesn't listen.
The chorus suggests that the singer has moved on and doesn't need the other person, even though they regret making the other person feel inferior or "less than beautiful." The second stanza continues to explain the other person's flaws, such as their inability to "relax" or "hear what [the singer] say[s]." The singer implies that the other person can choose to love or ignore them, but ultimately, their relationship is going nowhere. In the final stanza, the singer concludes that they should have avoided the other person altogether to avoid feeling "less than beautiful" due to their negativity and toxicity.
