Headstone Epitaph Lyrics

When you're in trouble
And when you feel pain
You hear it over
And over again
That demon inside you
He tries to persuade
When it's too late
Over the rainbow
Far beyond the clouds
There's always something
But you can't reach out
It's sometimes hard for you
To overcome
You feel so much better
After it's done
Don't be so lazy
And don't be a fool
You are so stubborn,
As stubborn as a mule
Over the rainbow
Far beyond the clouds
There's always something
But you can't reach out
Follow the fire,
Hold on to your dreams
And with desire
You will find the means
Over the rainbow
Far beyond the clouds
There's always something
But you can't reach out
Follow the fire,
Hold on to your dreams
And with desire
You will find the means
The lyrics of Headstone Epitaph's "Over the Rainbow" reflect a message of hope and perseverance despite adversity. The song starts by acknowledging the struggles and pains that one might face in life. It talks about this inner demon inside us that tries to persuade us to give up and succumb to our problems. The songwriter encourages his audience not to bow down to such negative thoughts, and it is a tragedy when one does so. The line "That demon inside you, He tries to persuade" reflects the internal struggle that we all face when dealing with negativity.
The chorus of the song, "Over the rainbow, far beyond the clouds, There's always something, but you can't reach out," gives the idea that there is something beyond the struggles we face. However, sometimes those things are not within immediate reach, making it a challenge to keep going. Despite this, the songwriter encourages the listeners to follow that fire within them, hold on to their dreams, and keep the desire for a brighter tomorrow, as that desire will eventually lead to the means to achieve those dreams.
In the second verse, the songwriter mentions how hard it is to overcome our struggles, but we feel so much better after we have done so. The line "Don't be so lazy, And don't be a fool, You are so stubborn, As stubborn as a mule" emphasizes how we can sometimes be our own worst enemy and how we must overcome our personal barriers before we can even start to rise to the occasion.
Overall, Headstone Epitaph's "Over the Rainbow" offers an inspirational message that encourages people to keep pushing, keep dreaming, and keep fighting. The song acknowledges the hard realities of life but emphasizes that we have the power to overcome them.
