Mother fucker it's a new beginning
You lose, I win
Now you're stuck and it's too late for running
Dancing in the river on the bed of an angel
Drinking dirty water from the fountain of hell yeah
Sleeping with the enemy but don't ever tell
Welcome home
The Devil's own
If you're dying in the fire it's better if you're not alone
Welcome home
No shame, this game
Once you come inside you know you're never the same yeah
No one, to blame
Welcome to the family with no last name
Dancing in the river on the bed of an angel
Drinking dirty water from the fountain of hell yeah
Sleeping with the enemy but don't ever tell
I can hear you ringing the bell
Welcome home
The Devil's own
If you're dying in the fire it's better if you're not alone
Welcome home
Come in, you've sinned
Mother fucker it's a new beginning
You lose, I win
Now you're stuck and it's too late for running
Dancing in the river on the bed of an angel
Drinking dirty water from the fountain of hell yeah
Sleeping with the enemy but don't ever tell
I can hear you ringing the bell
Welcome home
The Devil's own
If you're dying in the fire it's better if you're not alone
Welcome home
The lyrics of Heaven’s Basement's song "Welcome Home" seem to depict a scenario where the singer has lost in a game of some sort and is now being shown a new path. He is welcomed by a voice that tells him that he has sinned, but this is a new beginning. He has now joined a family that has no last name or identity. He is made aware that he cannot run anymore, as he is now stuck in this world. The song describes a dark, dangerous world with a constant sense of danger, where the singer is dancing in the river, drinking dirty water, and sleeping with the enemy.
It seems like the singer has been brought to hell, and he is introduced to the Devil himself. The chorus, "Welcome home, the Devil's own" depicts that he is now part of this dangerous world, and if he is dying in the fire (metaphorically), it's better if he's not alone. The last verse repeats the opening verse, indicating that it's a constant cycle of sin, being trapped and a new beginning.
Overall, this is a song about losing oneself and diving headfirst into the dangerous, reckless elements of life. It tells the story of an individual who has found a new family in the darkest of places and has become a part of it.
