2. An Australian indie avant-garde band fronted by Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence-Geldof, daughter of INXS member, Michael Hutchence.

1. Heavenly were a 1990s indiepop band formed in Oxford, England in 1989. Amelia Fletcher (vocals), Mathew Fletcher (drums; Amelia's brother), Peter Momtchiloff (guitar) and Robert Pursey (bass) had all been members of Talulah Gosh, a key band of the c86 scene which preceded the indiepop movement, formed in 1986.
Heavenly debuted with the 7" single I Fell In Love Last Night, followed by another 7", Our Love Is Heavenly, both released in 1990 on Sarah Records. Heavenly Vs. Satan, the group's debut album, came out in 1991. They went on to release three more albums: Le Jardin de Heavenly, The Decline and Fall of Heavenly, and Operation Heavenly.
Shortly before the release of their final album in 1996, Mathew Fletcher, the band's drummer and Amelia's brother, committed suicide. The remaining members announced that the band name Heavenly was to be retired. The other members regrouped with a new drummer as Marine Research, a moniker under which they released a single album, 1999's Sounds From The Gulf Stream. The band's core members reformed in 2002 as Tender Trap.
A collection of their singles was released in 2020 under the title "A Bout De Heavenly." Reviewing in Pitchfork, Quinn Moreland noted "Heavenly released four studio albums, but a recent singles collection, A Bout De Heavenly, makes the case that some of their most magical work existed in smaller formats."
2. Heavenly is an Australian avant-garde, experimental band consisting of members Tiger Lily Hutchence-Geldof, Nicholas Allbrook, India Rose, Scarlett Stevens, and Jacob Diamond. The band released their first EP titled Tragic Tiger’s Sad Meltdown in March 2020 on Bandcamp.
3. Heavenly, a power metal/neo-classical metal band from Paris, France, were formed in 1994 by vocalist Benjamin Sotto and drummer Max Pilo. They were originally a cover band and played under the name of 'Satan's Lawyer' before evolving into a fully-fledged Helloween-influenced power metal outfit.
In 2000, Heavenly released their debut album 'Coming From the Sky.' Although it was largely shunned by the media, the album proved a hit with metal fans and its success helped Heavenly land an appearance at the French Hard Rock Festival.
Heavenly released their second album Sign of the Winner in 2001, and received positive feedback from both fans and media alike. After appearing at Wacken (the world's biggest metal festival) in 2002, Heavenly set to work recording their third album, 'Dust to Dust,' which was eventually released in early 2004, further solidifying their status as one of France's premier power metal bands.
Still Believe
Heavenly Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It is the year 3030, machines and androids,
which have become too perfect, revolt against mankind.
Men fight to protect their own existence, threatened to perish.
[intro :]
Fight goes on with victory in our mind
[1st verse :]
It's time for rebellion
Androids are living
Fantasy or nightmare
Human against his machine
[2nd verse :]
Science is the future
That men believed to control
A punishment or a madness
Is falling on earth from beyond
But fight to keep the earth for human kind
[bridge :]
Pray for a destiny where humans will be free
But I wonder if eternity will give a chance to live
[chorus :]
Still believe - land of tomorrow
Still believe - and our nation will be free
Like a dream without war and machines
Still believe - way of tomorrow
Still believe - a dream became reality
Can't you see, imagine we are free and glorious
[solo (Fred)]
[1st break :]
See, do you see the fear turning around us
But I know that we can find the force inside us
To cross the world with future of mankind in our hands
And our dreams to reign all around the world
All over heaven
[2st break :]
Hear, do you hear the tears all around us
Which fall, falling on the ground
Which don't belong to us anymore
[solo 2 (Fred)]
Fight goes on with victory in our mind
Carry on to keep the earth for human kind
[bridge :]
Pray for a destiny where humans will be free
But I wonder if eternity will give us a chance to live
[chorus :]
Still believe - land of tomorrow
Still believe - and our nation will be free
Like a dream without war and machines
Still believe - way of tomorrow
Still believe - a dream became reality
Can't you see, imagine we are free and glorious
The song "Still Believe" by Heavenly is set in the year 3030 where machines and androids, which have become too perfect, rebel against mankind. In the midst of chaos, men fight to protect their own existence as they are threatened to perish. The first verse brings out the theme of rebellion as the androids have come to life, and men are faced with the challenge of fighting against them. The second verse cites science as the future that men believed they could control, but now, they are faced with punishment or madness falling on earth from beyond. Despite the war, the chorus bolsters optimism that humanity will still emerge victorious and rise free from the war and machines, and enter the dream of tomorrow, which is free and glorious.
The bridge illuminates the theme of hope in the face of destruction. There is a call to pray for a destiny where humans will be free, but the question posed is whether eternity will give us a chance to live. These lines reflect the curious nature of humanity, as we keep holding on to hope, even when it seems unlikely. It also shows the possibility that things may not be as they seem, even in the face of war and technological advancement.
The song presents a story that resonates with the fear many people hold in the face of technological advancement. The lyrics are a warning of the dangers of losing humanity's grip on technology and how it may lead to a dystopian future. The song is deeply philosophical as it raises introspective questions while enhancing the need for optimism and holding on to hope in a time of darkness.
