1) Heavy Load was a heavy metal band from Stockholm, Sweden. Formed in 1976 by the brothers Ragne (vocals and guitar) and Styrbjörn Wahlquist (vocals and drums), together with bassist Michael Backlund.
In 1977 Heavy Load recorded their first album "Full Speed at High Level" (released 1978), now with Dan Molén on the bass.
After their debut, Ex-Highbrow guitarist was added to the lineup as well as Torbjörn Ragnesjö (A cousin of the Wahlquist brothers), replacing Dan Molén. This line-up released the EP "Metal Conquest" and the two full- length albums "Death or Glory" (1982) and "Stronger than Evil" (1983) on their own record label before breaking up. "Stronger than Evil" even featured renowned bass player Phil Lynott on the song "Free". Heavy Load was known in Sweden and also had a following in Japan, but in spite of this they never made any real commercial breakthrough. A last try was made in 1985 with the single "Monsters of the Night", featuring bassist Andreas Fritz, but the band split up shortly after.
In 1987, the Wahlquist Bros. kickstarted the band again and recorded an album together with ex-UFO bassist Paul Gray and guitarist Patrik Karlsson. The album was never released, though. Years later though, a cover of "Run with the Devil" was recorded by another Swedish metal band, Hammerfall, featuring backing vocals by the Wahlquist brothers.
2) Heavyload are Brighton's punk outfit, ambition, fantasy, expectation and desire that fuels the band. But they’re also uniquely, made up of musicians with and without learning disabilities.
The Guitar Is My Sword
Heavy Load Lyrics

In the everlasting rain
I stood alone in the night
No one to hold me tight
Oh, the times were bad
Nothing I had
For what I thought was right
The guitar is my sword, I'll fight 'til I die
Rock 'n' roll is my lord 'til the very last sigh
Nothing is for free
And nothing is for me
It's victory or death
'Til the last breath
Life, I love you and one day you won't be
Life, I love you and one day you won't be
In the light of the moon
In the night very soon
You can see me strike
I pick up my mike
It's evil and death
It's victory or death
I've seen a dove
For peace and for love
The guitar is my sword, I'll fight 'til I die
Rock 'n' roll is my lord 'til the very last sigh
The lyrics of Heavy Load's song "The Guitar Is My Sword" convey a sense of struggle and defiance against the odds. The opening lines of "I was born in pain, in the everlasting rain" suggests a sense of adversity that the singer has overcome in order to stand alone in the night. The difficult times are further emphasized with the lyrics "nothing I had, for what I thought was right, I had to fight". The imagery of the guitar as a sword enhances the sentiment of the struggle and suggests that music can be a powerful weapon in the fight for what's right.
The lyrics also incorporate a sense of mortality with the line "life, I love you and one day you won't be". This creates a sense of urgency in the fight for what the singer believes in. The lyrics "nothing is for me, it's victory or death, 'til the last breath" affirms the determination to keep fighting despite the odds.
In the verses "It's evil and death, for victory or death, I've seen a dove, for peace and for love" the lyrics suggest that while the struggle may be difficult, the end goal is for peace and love. The last line of "rock 'n' roll is my lord 'til the very last sigh" implies that music is not just a weapon, but also a passion that drives the singer forward in the struggle.
