Enemy
Heed Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Life's full of anger.
I am the nail in eye's of few...
But I watch the suffering of you,
making your hate survive.

Loneliness, virulence is what you feel!
Was it the pain of the game that you lost?
Obstacles making you crawl in the dust,
of everlasting tragedy.

If you're my enemy.
I'll set your destiny.
Repent your lies to me now.
In fierce I'll reap your soul.

Planting the venom, hiding in shadows of the coil.
A steal upon life and taking life.
You think you'll get away...

Loneliness, virulence is what you feel!
Was it the pain of the game that you lost?
Obstacles making you crawl in the dust,
of everlasting tragedy.

If your my enemy.
I'll set your destiny.
Repent your lies to me now.
Believe my words.
If you're my enemy.
I'll make you bleed and I'll tear down your life,
for now, I own your breath...
In fierce I'll reap your soul.

If your my enemy.
I'll set your destiny.
Repent your lies to me now.
Believe my words.
If you're my enemy.
I'll make you bleed and I'll tear down your life,
for now, I own your breath...
In fierce I'll reap your soul.

I am your last elegy...
I am thy enemy I will reap your soul.

Overall Meaning

The song "Enemy" by Heed talks about the feeling of anger and the consequences of harboring that anger. The lyrics suggest that when we hold onto feelings of resentment towards someone, we are only hurting ourselves. The first line "Life's full of anger" sets the tone for the rest of the song, which is about the suffering and pain that result from anger and hatred. The next line "I am the nail in the eye's of few" suggests that the singer may have played a role in causing someone's pain or suffering. However, the chorus line "If you're my enemy, I'll set your destiny" shows that the singer is also determined to take revenge on those who have hurt them.

The song then goes on to describe the loneliness and virulence that occurs when one holds onto anger for too long. The lyrics suggest that when we are angry, we may feel like we have lost the game, and obstacles make us crawl on the ground in despair. The line "Planting the venom, hiding in shadows of the coil" shows how anger can grow and fester in the shadows until it becomes something dangerous. The singer then goes on to threaten their enemy, saying, "I'll make you bleed and I'll tear down your life, for now, I own your breath...In fierce I'll reap your soul."

Overall, "Enemy" is a powerful song about the dangers of anger and the need to let go of negative emotions. The singer acknowledges that they have been hurt in the past, but instead of holding onto anger, they choose to let go and move on.

This is just other metal. It's hard to realize how different this is from Lost Horizon's work, but this is also really good. I stand, Daniel is great, and Heed too. Greetings from Colombia.

@snerwin You clearly never went to Catholic school. Believe me, the Catholics have a vivid interpretation of Hell, and their teachings are littered with things like this. They talk the repenting of sins to He Who Judges, or one's soul shall be cast into a lake of burning blood, where one shall suffer for all eternity. Hell, read the Divine Comedy (Paradise Lost); it gives a detailed Catholic impression of the hellish realm in which Lucifer resides, with nine full levels of sinners suffering.
