Biography
Heidi Hauge was born in Skien, Norway, on October 14th 1967.
Besides the fact that Heidi Hauge is the best selling country-singer in Scandinavia, she's also a mother of four children. How she manages to balance the time and needs, is something that confuses most of us. In Heidi's case, the answer might be that she's always been active. In her youth, she liked different kinds of sporting activities and she learned how to play the fiddle and the guitar. After that Heidi Hauge finished her studies (health/social), she worked in a kindergarden until she became a mother of her own.
After four years, with music as a hobby, she ended up one night at the right place, at the right time - leading to a contract at Showtime Records AS, in October 1999.Her first CD, "Country Time", was released in March -00. It wasn't hard, for the recording-company to see that they made the catch of the year!
"Country Rose", Heidi's second CD, was released in January -01, and no more than two months later it had sold beyond the 25 000 copies that recognize a CD as a gold record, something that was repeated when "Country Girl", was released in June -01.
Today, all of Heidi's CD's have become gold records!"Country Girl" has been released in Denmark and it will be released in Sweden during the year.In spite of her success, Heidi Hauge sometimes gets critic for her personal and characteristic way of singing, but by selling 100 000 records, she has proved to be a full-worthy artist within the Norwegian Country!
"During the four years that I have been on the road, with my husband Bjørn Arild Hauge, my ambitions were to have music as a hobby. Even though it now has turned into a full time job, it still is fun - and then I feel that it's all right! I am overwhelmed by the response and I want to thank all of you who have bought my records. I promise that I will continue to sing genuine and earthbound Country, and I do hope that my next CD will give joy to all of you who like my music."
