In 2005, Heimataerde was signed by Metropolis Records, and their album, Gotteskrieger, was released by the label in April. The album is state of the art harsh EBM/industrial with beats designed to take the underground dance floors by storm. While musically Heimataerde is much in the vein of legendary dark EBM acts like older Wumpscut and Suicide Commando, the music does have its own unique identity, and a modern, up to date sound. With tracks like "Gib Mir" and "Ich Hab Die Nacht Getraeumet" already taking over the dance floors all over the world, Heimataerde has already laid the groundwork for its club invasion.
In August 2006, the next album, Kadavergehorsam was released and ties seamlessly into Heimataerde's prior works.
In 2008, the most recent album Leben Geben Leben Nehmen was released.
As of Late September 2009, there is an upcoming album "Unwesen", and trailers for the album can be seen at http://www.myspace.com/heimataerde
Mutter
Heimataerde Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Musst nun einsam sein
Schwer wird nun mein Herz
Spüre nur noch Schmerz
Oh mein Kindelein
Nun bist du allein
Kann das Licht nun sehen
Mutter
Wo bist du?
Oh mein Kindelein
Siehst du diesen Schein
Er holt mich nach Haus
Und mein Licht geht aus
The lyrics to Heimataerde's song "Mutter" convey a sense of loss, sorrow, and separation. The singer is addressing their child, who now must be alone, and expresses how heavy and painful their heart feels. The mention of only feeling pain suggests that the singer is experiencing a profound grief that has consumed their entire being. The second verse continues with the theme of the child being alone, but the singer shifts the focus to their own journey. They can now see the light which suggests that they have passed away and are now moving towards a new life leaving their child alone. Finally, they call out to their mother, perhaps searching for the comfort that they can no longer experience.
The lyrics are poignant and evoke a sense of longing and sadness that is universal. The words can be interpreted in many ways; however, it seems to be at the core about the loss of a parent or loved one. The song is raw and powerful, and the use of old German in Heimtaerde's music highlights the emotional intensity of the lyrics. Overall, the song conveys a sense of bereavement and speaks to the universal sentiment of losing someone you love.
