Bifröst
Heimdall Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

White Lord sat at the limits of the sky
Son of Odin, the enemy of the giants of ice
He was the guarantor of the balance of the worlds

[pre-chorus]
Soaring high in the heavens
Defending the dwellings of the gods
He lived in the fortress of the sky

The Bright warrior oversaw the bridge of fire
It was Bifræst way between the earth and the heavens
He was the guarantor of the balance of the worlds

[repeat pre-chorus]

[chorus (x2)]
With his gold wings -
He flew high in the sky And with sword of fire -
He guarded Bifræst

[repeat chorus (x2)]

One day HEIMDALL was called to Odin's court...

Why flat?
I mean if you don't want to rely blindly on science fine, I actually respect that greatly, but look up in the sky; The sun is round, the moon is round and on a good night u can see round planets. It makes more sense things have an order and that the place we are on is also round.

How can you also selectively use the theory of gravity? If you do believe in gravity, then you know with a center things will logically become a circle or sphere. This is not even a random science fact..

Take a piece of paper with a point in the middle, and make points around it going equally outwards as if they represent the smallest particles there are. You will get a circle.

Since we are also in a 3d world, something which does not require science, because depth (you have walked on a stair right?). Thus every point from the centre would go outward in every 3d angle making the circle default to a sphere.

These are things you can logically conclude without relying on random governed sources. It's logic.

It's like a more sophisticated version of:

"It'll kill you!"
"Only if I die."
"Yes...that's what...killing you means..."

I love how the bifrost gives off the vibe of being both ancient and futuristic simultaneously with is stone grating sound combined with the whirring while it powers up. Definitely made an impression on me all those years ago.

Heimdall is also one of my favorite characters from the movie with his stoic personality.
