Helen O'Connell joined the Jimmy Dorsey band in 1939 and achieved her best selling records in the early forties with "Green Eyes", "Amapola", and "Tangerine". In each of these Latin-influenced numbers, Bob Eberly crooned the song which Helen then reprised in an up-tempo arrangement. Helen won the 1940 Metronome magazine poll for best female vocalist. She was one of the first "girls" on NBC's The Today Show, and at one point had her own television show.
Helen retired from show business upon her first marriage in 1943. Helen had four daughters and eight grandchildren. When the first marriage failed, she embarked on a solo career in 1951, achieving some chart success and becoming a regular television performer. Helen has married a total of four times.
She co-hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants with Bob Barker from 1972 to 1980.
In her last marriage, she was married to arranger/conductor/composer Frank De Vol when she died in San Diego, California from a battle with hepatitis C resulting in primary liver cancer (hepatoma).

All by myself
No one to walk with
But I'm happy on the shelf
Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you
I know for certain
I'm through with flirtin'
It's just you I'm thinkin' of
Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you
Like Jack Horner
In the corner
Don't go nowhere
What do I care?
Your kisses are worth waitin' for
Believe me
I don't stay out late
Don't care to go
I'm home about eight
Just me and my radio
Ain't misbehavin'
I'm savin' my love for you
The lyrics of Helen O'Connell's song Ain't Misbehavin' speaks of solitude, contentment, and loyalty. The first verse tells of the singer's situation of being alone, with no one to talk or walk with, but finding happiness in being alone. The next verse, however, shows that the singer is not alone in love. She knows who she loves, and she is thinking only of that person, saving her love for them. The third verse has the singer likening herself to Jack Horner, a fictional character who sits in the corner and eats pudding, which suggests her lack of desire to go out and socialize, as she is waiting for her love's kisses, which are worth the wait. The final verse reveals that the singer stays home with her radio and is not one to go out late, perhaps because she is saving herself for her love, whom she is devoted to.
The lyrics show a pure form of love and loyalty and promote self-reliance and contentment, without the need to constantly be with someone or engage in excessive social activities. It also shows patience and the willingness to wait for what is worth waiting for, which is the love of the person she is saving herself for.

Beautiful voz,,,
@jmrodas9
A nice tune which makes one think one should behave right, although temptations to do otherwise sometimes arise. But we needn't be taken to fall to them. And although some people shall call us foolish, we shall be happier in the long run.
