We the audience have seen Toby & his misfortune (being abused and used as a slave by others) professing his love to a woman who tried to have him killed. I love how he drops his straight razor, his "only friend," at the end. The razor represents his hold on his hate and desire for revenge, which he completely forgets about when he instead grabs onto Lucy, his "reason and his life." I've always wanted some sort redemption for Benjamin Barker and I believe this small gesture suggests he is redeemed. He doesn't die with revenge in his heart, and if there's any hatred its for his actions. I hope Lucy and Benjamin enjoy their afterlife together.
