In heaven, everything is fine,
You've got your good thing, and I've got mine.
In heaven, everything is fine,
You've got your good thing, and you've got mine.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Helios's song "In Heaven" are simple yet meaningful. The opening lines of "In heaven, everything is fine" can be interpreted in different ways. It could be referring to the concept of afterlife, a peaceful and serene paradise, or a state of mind where everything seems perfect. The following line, "You've got your good thing, and I've got mine," suggests that everyone has something that makes them happy, and that heaven can be found within these things. It also implies that happiness is not universal, and that everyone has their own unique pursuit of it.

The repetition of "In heaven, everything is fine" in the chorus gives a sense of reassurance and calmness. It's as if the singer is trying to escape the harsh realities of the world and imagine a place where everything is perfect. The second line of the chorus, "You've got your good thing, and I've got mine," reiterates the idea of individual happiness while also implying that everyone's definition of a "good thing" may differ.

Overall, Helios's "In Heaven" is a song that speaks to the human desire for peace, happiness, and a perfect world. The repetition of the chorus, the simple instrumentation, and the dreamy atmosphere of the song all contribute to creating a sense of escapism.

Something so dark and sinister to this song . Is that intended or just my feeling?

@Deep_in_the_Reads

It's definitely intended! The lyrics are from Eraserhead, a movie where a guy fantasizes about a girl singing this to him, and a lot of people interpret that as him contemplating suicide. Great film, by the way. So cool to hear Helios covering the song from it.
