1) Helix (formerly known as The Helix Field Band) is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band. They formed in 1974, and are best known for their 1984 single "Rock You". The original lineup was formed by drummer Bruce Arnold, and consisted of lead vocalist Brian Vollmer, guitarists Ron Watson and Rick "Minstrel" Trembley, keyboardist Don Simmons, and bassist Keith "Bert" Zurbrigg. However, their most well known lineup, and the one that recorded "Rock You", was the 1980s version of the band: Vollmer on vocals, accompanied by guitarists Brent "The Doctor" Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg "Fritz" Hinz. The history of the band has been marked by many lineup changes, with Vollmer being the sole constant member and only remaining member of the original lineup. Although Hackman was killed in a tour bus accident in 1992, the surviving members of the 1980s lineup reunited in 2009 for an album and have continued to tour since 2011. Watson died in 2019. Simmons died in 2021.

In the morning light
Feels so good
By me
It could be so right
You and me
So
(Make me do) Anything you want
(Make me be) Anything you want
Work hard in the daytime
For a dinner at night
Comfort me at the right time
Everything's gonna be alright
(Make me do) Anything you want
Oh!
(Make me be) Anything you want
(Make me do) Anything you want, yeah
Ooh
Ooh
(Make me do) Anything you want
(Make me be) Anything you want
Oh!
(Make me do) Anything you want
(Make me be) Anything you want, yeah
(Make me do) Anything you want (Anything that you want)
(Make me be) Anything you want (Make me be anything)
(Make me do) Anything you want (Make me do anything you want)
(Make me be) Anything you want
The lyrics to Helix's "Anything You Want" speak of a desire for a romantic rendezvous with someone special. The singer suggests that in the morning light when it feels good to be near the person they want, everything could be just right between them that night. The offer to make them do and be anything they want underscores the singer's willingness to do what it takes to create an optimal experience for their love interest.
The second stanza speaks of working hard in the daytime to enjoy a dinner at night and finding comfort at the right time. These lines imply a desire for stability and companionship within a relationship. The chorus repeats the sentiment of making the singer do and be anything the love interest desires, emphasizing a willingness to be accommodating.

I met the lead guitarist in Calgary Alberta Canada in November, 1985. The autograph he gave me was inscribed with the words, " It's a long way to Kitchener." We met in a bar called Ranchmens. Several good looking guys with long hair came into the bar. One of them approached me and asked if I was from Calgary? I informed the guy that I was in town to attend a concert the following night. I told him the band was called Helix. He smiled and said he was the lead guitarist. "If your the lead guitarist then give me your autograph on this sheet of paper," l laughed. I was pleasantly surprised to see Brent on stage the following night. To my surprise he signaled me out from the crowd. Great memories. Thanks, Brent!

Say what you will but I live here in London On Canada and Brian Volmer, the lead singer lives a few blocks away, and you can knock on his door anytime, he turns no one away........calls his house Planet Helix which is really a museum to the band and Rock Metal in general........He and his wife Linda make you feel like family......very down to earth person is Brian.
