1) Helix (formerly known as The Helix Field Band) is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band. They formed in 1974, and are best known for their 1984 single "Rock You". The original lineup was formed by drummer Bruce Arnold, and consisted of lead vocalist Brian Vollmer, guitarists Ron Watson and Rick "Minstrel" Trembley, keyboardist Don Simmons, and bassist Keith "Bert" Zurbrigg. However, their most well known lineup, and the one that recorded "Rock You", was the 1980s version of the band: Vollmer on vocals, accompanied by guitarists Brent "The Doctor" Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg "Fritz" Hinz. The history of the band has been marked by many lineup changes, with Vollmer being the sole constant member and only remaining member of the original lineup. Although Hackman was killed in a tour bus accident in 1992, the surviving members of the 1980s lineup reunited in 2009 for an album and have continued to tour since 2011. Watson died in 2019. Simmons died in 2021.

If you feel like goin' crazy
If you feel like losin' your mind
Well I'll give you fare warning
No one gets out alive
Cause
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
Whoa!
If you feel your body achin'
Then you feel your body sweat
Do you know the rules we're breakin'
Do you know we ain't done yet
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never, never get out, no!t
Whoa!
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out
This place is an animal house
Once you're in, you never get out, no!
You'll never get out
No, no, no, no
The lyrics of Helix's song Animal House describe a party or a gathering where people are free to let loose and have fun. The singer warns the listener that once they step into this place, they will become a part of the madness and will never be able to fully escape. The lyrics suggest that the atmosphere of the place is wild and unruly, and the people involved are breaking the rules. The use of the term "animal house" conjures up images of debauchery and excess, emphasizing the reckless abandon of those who enter.
The singer goes on to describe physical sensations such as sweating and body aches, indicating that the party-goers are pushed to their limits. However, despite the warning and the potential consequences, the tone of the lyrics remains celebratory and defiant. The repetition of the phrase "once you're in, you never get out" reinforces the idea that once the listener enters the party, they are committing themselves to the experience, consequences be damned.
Overall, the lyrics of Animal House capture the spirit of youthful abandon and the thrill of living without consequences. It also highlights the idea that once one enters into the madness, they become a part of it and can never really escape.
