1) Helix (formerly known as The Helix Field Band) is a Canadian hard rock and heavy metal band. They formed in 1974, and are best known for their 1984 single "Rock You". The original lineup was formed by drummer Bruce Arnold, and consisted of lead vocalist Brian Vollmer, guitarists Ron Watson and Rick "Minstrel" Trembley, keyboardist Don Simmons, and bassist Keith "Bert" Zurbrigg. However, their most well known lineup, and the one that recorded "Rock You", was the 1980s version of the band: Vollmer on vocals, accompanied by guitarists Brent "The Doctor" Doerner and Paul Hackman, bassist Daryl Gray, and drummer Greg "Fritz" Hinz. The history of the band has been marked by many lineup changes, with Vollmer being the sole constant member and only remaining member of the original lineup. Although Hackman was killed in a tour bus accident in 1992, the surviving members of the 1980s lineup reunited in 2009 for an album and have continued to tour since 2011. Watson died in 2019. Simmons died in 2021.

Weighing heavy on your mind
Well don't you worry no
Gonna leave 'em all far behind
In the morning light
When you're lying by my side
I'm gonna wipe away, wipe away
Ooh yeah!
If you need lovin' babe
Well I'm your man
Gonna do the best for you
The best I can
In the morning light
When you're lying by my side
I'm gonna wipe away, wipe away
All those tears you cry
I'll always be there
When you need me
And this ol' world drags you down
And in the morning
When love comes shining through
I'll be your shelter from the storm
If you need someone babe
Someone to share
All those dreams you made
I'm the one who cares
And when you're feeling down
Or when you're feeling blue
I'm gonna wipe away, wipe away
All those tears for you
I'll always be there
When you need me
And this ol' world drags you down
And in the morning
When love comes shining through
I'll be your shelter from the storm
Ow!
And in the morning
When love comes shining through
I'll be your shelter from the storm
I'll keep you warm
I'm gonna wipe away, wipe away
All your tears
For you
Every tear
For you
I'll be your shelter
Your shelter from the storm
The storm
The storm
All those tears
All those tears
You cried
The Storm by Helix is a classic rock love song that tells a story of a partner who deeply cares for his or her significant other. The first stanza leads with the significant other expressing that they are troubled and weighed down with problems. The lead singer reassures the partner that he or she doesn't need to worry and that the singer will "leave them all far behind." Furthermore, the singer pledges to wipe away his or her lover's tears in the morning when lying beside them.
The second stanza starts with the singer inquiring if their lover needs love and he reassures them that he is the ideal man for the role. He then goes on to promise to wipe away all their tears, always be there for them, and be their shelter from the storm when love comes shining through. The last segment of the song reiterates the vow to be there for, to take care of and to support a partner in times of need. The rock guitar, the awesome beat, and perfect harmonies complete this ode to true love that will withstand any storm.

Yes to what everyone else said. I just want to say the tone of the Strat here is very straight into the amp, honest and real. One of their best songs. I have listened to Helix since "Running wild in the 21st Century" premiered on MTV's Headbanger's Ball.
