The band continue to tour, often abroad, often briefly...This news broke to the dismay of many a Heroes fan on 25.10.2007:
"Dear rock fans the forthcoming hop around the UK will be the last full length stint on the road before the reunion tour in 2037. HIFH are up for spending more time at home working on other projects and potentially a fourth album if it can beat the last effort. Plus 7 years in the van is a fair stretch by any standards. Just like the Beatles after Rubber Soul, its hallucinogenics and concept albums from here on. In the meantime, as usual, expect the unforgettable.
Thank You,
hellisforheroes"
They finally gave it up in 2008, with a final goodbye post on their official website posted in Jan 2009.
They reformed in November 2012 to support Hundred reasons on their last tour dates.
They then toured in 2018 with A and in 2023 with Hundred Reasons and My Vitriol, releasing two new songs in early 2023.
Out Of Sight
Hell Is For Heroes Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Kick out the closed gate
'Cause I'm ready to join the crowd
And I'm ready
To unlock the padlock on my mind
Twisted and torn
Tension that tear
Reason from rhyme
And I can't decide
Which one to feed
And which one to fight
Once more I get scarred
Break through the brick wall
Just gather my thoughts and go
And I'm ready
To pick up the pieces of my life
I want to be out of sight
I want to be out of mind
Can't seem to judge
The distance between
My hands and feet
Quite literally
Walk slow into the vacuum
This is the end of everything
Welcome back to the black hole
Raise the shade up from your eyes
And I'll be out of sight
And I'll be out of mind
The lyrics of "Out of Sight" by Hell Is For Heroes depict the emotional struggles and inner turmoil of the singer who is trying to find his way out of a difficult situation. The song begins with the lines "Once more I get burned, Kick out the closed gate", which are suggestive of the singer's determination to move forward and break free from the shackles of his current condition. He feels ready to join the crowd and unlock the padlock on his mind, indicating a sense of liberation and an urge to overcome his fears.
The next few lines provide insights into the conflicting emotions that the singer experiences. He feels twisted and torn, with tension tearing his will from his mind and reason from rhyme. The struggle to decide which emotion to feed and which to fight is clearly taking its toll on him, and he finds himself scarred and in need of finding a way out.
The lyrics also feature a sense of dissociation, where the singer wishes to be "out of sight and out of mind". As the song progresses, he contemplates the distance between his hands and feet, literally unable to judge it, and walks into what seems like a vacuum – hinting at a sense of isolation and detachment.
Overall, "Out of Sight" is a song about fighting inner demons, overcoming conflicts, and finding a way out of difficult situations. It highlights the importance of perseverance and self-belief in the face of adversity.
