Recuerdo y me acuerdo más
Recuerdas y te acuerdas
Y solo quieres olvidar
Recuerdas que acordamos
Acordarnos de los demás
Ya no importa
Podría convertirme en polvo
Y perderme ahí
Y mis fantasmas quedarse
Deambulando por aquí
Recuerdo y te recuerdo
Recuerdo y me acuerdo más
Recuerdas y te acuerdas
Y solo quieres olvidar
The Spanish lyrics of Hello Seahorse!'s El Recuerdo, when translated, talks about memories and the challenge of forgetting. The song highlights the different experiences of memory, both in personal and interpersonal contexts. The first two lines, "Recuerdo y me acuerdo, Recuerdo y me acuerdo más," can be understood as a reflection on how memories stay with us and can become more vivid as time goes by. The following lines, "Recuerdas y te acuerdas, Y solo quieres olvidar" suggest that some memories might be better left forgotten.
The third and fourth lines, "Recuerdas que acordamos, Acordarnos de los demás," could mean that remembering others and their experiences is an integral part of human interaction. However, the next line, "Ya no importa, Se han ahogado en el mar," implies that a person can choose not to hold on to memories if they no longer matter. The following two lines, "Podría convertirme en polvo, Y perderme ahí," suggest the songwriter's desire to be forgotten.
The song's chorus, "Recuerdo y te recuerdo, Recuerdo y me acuerdo más, Recuerdas y te acuerdas, Y solo quieres olvidar" reinforces the idea that memories can be both challenging and essential to one's being.
